There's no such thing as Sharia law anywhere in this country. If you want to pretend there is so that it lets you rant at some imaginary commie, I guess it's up to you.
Sharia law in the UK is a form of arbitration, it is not a criminal code. Both parties have to accept that the arbitration is binding on them. It is no different to any other form of dispute resolution between two different. They can use sharia law, French law, a toss of a coin whatever.
ie This is only used between muslims and does not affect the law of the land.
I do think it was very short sighted if someone did allow this protest to go on. Freedom of speech is one thing, but who would ever think that something like this was not going to cause a public disturbance.
PS 50 years ago you would have found it hard to buy a baseball cap, get a decent curry and no one had heard of chow mein.
I was up town on Sunday with the wife kids and another family for the Thames festival, we went to the US embassy to watch the ceremony and spend a moment in reflection, as my son was just a couple of months old when the world changed, these muslim freaks that had turned up to impose their hatred upon the people who wanted to show respect got what they deserrved a good fecking shoeing, not just from EDL (if thats who they were) but some nice big burly US marines who were off duty (allegedly)
The moment this scum burned the US flag i wouldve shot them
The old NF and the BNP didnt get 100 people of any sort of march etc the EDL get 1000/2000 yet they are all neo facist -- nazi ? get a naffing life, stick ur political red flag up ur arse as we wave good bye to what was once England.
Ha ha. NF used to get more than 100 people at marches. I know I was there but the ANL always outnumbered them just as the Anti-fascists always have. EDL don't get 2000. They wish.
EDL are just the same people as the BNP (only the BNP has been issued with a winding up order so will soon be gone) which is maybe why the EDL leader Stephen Yaxley-Lennon changed his name to Tommy Robinson. Or maybe he thought he new name sounded a bit "harder" and less, well, posh. Whichever he was a BNP member as were many of the EDL leadership.
The local south London organiser of the EDL used to be a steward at the Valley. Until he took money to help fuse the floodlights and get our game v Liverpool abandoned. Not so fussy about the foreigners he dealt with then.
When Mosley was coming out with the same "It's not our country any more" crap 75 years ago he tried to march through the East End. A third of a million people stopped him and his black shirts. Same old, same old.
A good point was made that it is an excellent opportunit for the security forces to identify some of these people
Absolutely, whether they care about the list is irrelevant. These threads serve the same purpose too - I know who not to bother engaging with on the site in future.
Plus, it always makes me chuckle when the anti-foreigner brigade harp on about England, and then show their English-ness by failing to spell more than two consecutive words correctly, let alone get any facts right.
I think its called "free speech" - been around for quite a few years in the UK apparently.
They get to have their say, we take no notice and the world moves on. Better than the alternative, that's for sure.
Maybe you might prefer life in China? They are not too big on protests there.
agreed, however, stop shouting's point is predicated on the EDL march being banned and the muslim protest being allowed. Presumably the EDL did the right thing and applied for a licence and the muslims didn't and went ahead regardless. And the whole arab spring thing sprung from a desire for freedom and free speech, not a long suit in lands where islam is the majority religion/political creed
