  • Lukaku for 13m is bargain compared to Henderson etc, as is santon going Newcastle and vuckevic going Blackburn quality deals for them two, how west ham got bentley I don't know, will be great in champ, and merieles to Chelsea is a good deal, him mata and essien not a bad combo, althosayingn that gotta agree with the dann signing and add to that them getting goodwille and yakubu and doing us a Favour buying slew from Sheffield utd , and qpr defence looks a lot stronger with traore young and ferdinand than it has this season. Have to say forlan to inter was a mega cheap deal, and they got zarate too I think. In terms of lower leagues hollands on a free for me, or money wise maybe stephens, thug pritchard could surprise many. Phillips on a free to blackpool a bargain too considering his record.
Whats he done to you ? ;-)
  • Phil Jones is the best buy. Parker is a good buy for a Club in Spurs position, but he has never been good enough to fit into a Top 4 midfield, although his spell at Newcastle looked promising

Nothing ;) just the touch screen tryna stir things up haha
  • Swansea's dutch goalkeeper fpr £1.5 million; he's better than Man Utd's de Geah by a long way!

  • Raul Meireles going to Chelsea was a good deal, somewhat overlooked in the last minute rush.
  • Mertesacker to Arsenal
  • Smith to Charlton

    this
    Mertesacker to Arsenal
not this he will get done for pace
  • Mertesacker and Parker.
For ou division, maybe Fleck the younger if he gets his mojo back.  Our best one will turn out to be Green.

we will see, he has a lot of pace around him in Sagne and Vermuellen. Mertesacker is underrated by us English (except for me it seems),he's good in the air (he's about 6'5"), good passer, cool head, knows the game, good organiser .....  no-one gets over 70 German caps (and a few helmets?) if he can't play ..
  • Sponsored links:

  • Shay Given for Villa, suspect team at the best of times with some actual consistent quality where it matters. Surprised Arsenal didn't go in for him.

For us i think Danny Hollands, does an all round job.
  • vorm is a great call, but i think getting parker will prove to be a masterstoke by harry redknapp. for us it has to be hollands didnt pay a penny for him or most cafc fans are already saying semedo who?
  • Must say I'm a tad disappointed but not surprised that this thread, apart from our signings is all about the premiershit. Thought There would be some interest at least in who our rivals have signed this season in L1.

    - sorry tangoflash.  Lowe from Bury to Sheff Weds may turn out to be an unfortunately great bit of business (for this season at least).
  • Brighton signing Vicente from Valencia has to be up there!

Hansen doesn't rate Metersacker!  Let's face it Germany's willingness to counter at such pace, can leave central defenders exposed.  Still at least they counter entertainingly, whilst we just pound the door and flood forward to no effect and leave two defenders to cover the shit.

Bellamy will fit perfectly into Liverpool.  He'll make a lot of space for Suarez, and a combination of him and Kuyt with Suarez in front is excellent for work rate.  Without Bellamy Liverpool are woefully short of pace, any team willing to match them physically would have had an excellent chance by smothering Adam, Henderson and Downing.  Without Bellamy, they desperately rely upon Suarez's movement in between defenders.  Now with Bellamy, they have a system where Gerrard, Kuyt and Maxi Rodriguez can come into the side and be effective.  Without Bellamy it'd be a lot of hard work and slow build up that could easily be shut down.

I agree about Bellamy, the only problem I can see is that Bellamy loves to run wide and Suarez likes to drop off the front player so they might well lack a penalty box striker, one idea might be to play Bellamy/Carroll upfront and Suarez in the hole with a three-man midfield.

Regardless, I would love to see a Liverpool resurgence to break the Man Utd/Chelsea duopoly, if for no other reason than it would be a great story to see Dalglish bring them back to life.

  • Yes, very hard after a handful of games to say who our best deal is - quite a few have the potential to earn that title I think.
