for us, Hollands and Stephens are looking a steal, although given time I think that Hayes and Green will run them close....in all honesty, I don't think we've made a bad signing so far from what I've seen, great credit to CP and the board.
From a personal POV, pleased we've signed Parker. With Sandro, Huddlestone and Palacios (who's now gone) struggling for fitness, we've looked far too lightweight but hopefully this signing will readdress the balance. Can only see us playing 4-5-1 from here on in though. Presumably HR intends to play Parker alongside Huddlestone or Sandro, with the likes of Bale, Modric and vdV (or Lennon) behind Adebayor.
Best deal? Its got to be Arteta. Brilliant signing by Wenger. He's as close to Fabregas as you can get. Brilliant vision, proper playmaker and will slot straight into their midfield system alongside Wilshere and/or Song. I know he's been a bit injury prone in recent years but £10m? Thats a bargain. Wouldnt have thought Everton would have let him go that cheaply to be honest. They must be in serious financial difficulties.
Value for money deal? If Stoke can keep him fit, Woodgate. He's now played 7 consecutive games for Stoke so hopefully he's over his injury problems now. Intrigued by Bellamy going back to Liverpool. Presumably as back up to Suarez and Carroll. Hope he took his golf clubs with him ;-)
He would suit arsenal well and he has also played with Wilshire for england and paired up well in 3 man midfield. Parker does not fit wengers philosphy unfortunatly for them. They obviously have problems at the back defending and they have bought two attcking midfielders. Can say best form of defense is attack, but in reality it wont work for arsenal. What they really need is an experienced defensive midfielder and centre back, everyone seems to know this apart from arsne wenger, strange.
For us, way too early to say (boring I know), but Pritchard may yet prove the best of the lot. But I'm with bigstemarra in saying that our deals so far have been fantastic.

Time will tell on our big signings after we loose a game/bad run, and how we react to it. Its great that we are winning at the moment but its only 6 games in, we should be very familiar with the term 'keep our feet on the ground' as we have had so much dissapointment in recent years.
Like what Sir Alex says, alot of character is judged after how you react to a defeat or dissapointment. We won our last 2 after the dissapointing scunthorpe result so hopefully we have improved in that sense of just getting on with it and bouncing back.

This - sums it up for me.
The only possible caveat I would add is Hughes, of all the new players he is the only one I've been less than thoroughly impressed by. Saying that, his fitness will improve and its as much about what he can do for the team (i.e. experience, leadership) as in it.
The best team is rarely made up with the 11 best skilful players.
Lawrie McMenemy used to say, when he was manager of then top-flight Southampton years ago when they finished in 2nd place ........you need 9 virtuoso players and 2 roadsweepers in a successful team.
Or as Curbs used to say, the whole team has to be greater than the sum of its parts.
Scott Dann for Blackburn could be the difference between them staying up and going down and they were lucky to get him as thought he would go somewhere better. If he did not get injured mid season last year- maybe Brum would still be in the Premiership.
As for Charlton- if Stephens stays fit then we have one of the leagues best.
Lukaku for 13m is bargain compared to Henderson etc, as is santon going Newcastle and vuckevic going Blackburn quality deals for them two, how west ham got bentley I don't know, will be great in champ, and merieles to Chelsea is a good deal, him mata and essien not a bad combo, althosayingn that gotta agree with the dann signing and add to that them getting goodwille and yakubu and doing us a Favour buying slew from Sheffield utd , and qpr defence looks a lot stronger with traore young and ferdinand than it has this season. Have to say forlan to inter was a mega cheap deal, and they got zarate too I think. In terms of lower leagues hollands on a free for me, or money wise maybe stephens, thug pritchard could surprise many. Phillips on a free to blackpool a bargain too considering his record.

^^ lol everyones entitled to their opinion nla
I'd say Suarez to liverpoll, Aguero for City & Parker for Spurs top 3 for me
All our signings looking good, Hayes at the mo but its a close one with the others
west ham loaning bentley and lansbury. both premiership class players.
stephens for 400k (apparently)
Parker 5 million - Arteta 10 million.
Very strange.

Parker was recommended to him by his scouts including Steve Rowley but he just wasn't interested.
Parker is already 30 isn't he?
They already have plenty of skill in midfield, what Arsenal need is a proper tackler in midfield and Parker would have been great.
His last English buy (other than Chamberlain) was Walcott and that hasnt worked out too well. He just doesnt seem to buy Enlgish
Our best deal - getting rid of mcoxo

Parker is the outstanding deal for me as with most it seems. Also think Roger Johnson for Wolves at £6m(?) could be money well spent.
For us Hollands is going to be a great signing and provide the platform for Stephens, Green et al to do their stuff.

Can't believe a bigger club didn't get involved for £6million.
