Andy Hughs is the other player to have a degree, in Sports Science. That is why you will notice him doing more running and training than any other player.
Why is Stephens a doubt for Saturday's game? I hope he can make it, would be great if we could keep the same team for the game, especially infront of 20k+ there to see it.
I don't think he is a doubt for Saturday's game. He was limping a bit last week when he was subbed so people are putting 2 and 2 together and coming up with 7.
Really thought he'd do well for us. I'd seen him play before. Has played at a higher level in his career and done relatively well. Speaks great English. Has lived over here before. Egg on face!
When you sign 20+ players only having one or two failures isn't a bad return. I personally think the current first teamers have done better than the management expected. Alonso simply couldn't get anywhere near the first team.
Likely a Vetere signing... how much Powell was bothered with him we don't know, maybe never will
Vetere recommendation or signing? Surely every new player was a Powell signing.
He didn't play well v Brentford but his pre-season starting later didn't help. Hollands and Stephens then started the season, later on Hughes came in and has also played well. With a big squad he also struggled to make the bench. Not convinced it was down to Powell not picking him because someone else chose to sign him.

Probably the wrong choice of words. Obviously nobody has planted anyone here without Powell's input but it was probably one of those that's a bit more than a recommendation... still think it's a shame as he is a world above what he showed vs Brentford
I bet tomorrow he is confirmed as staying with the team and this is all just a rumour from some WUM's, after the fixture pile up in december he finally gets a game, plays a blinder and goes on to start for the rest of the season

Possibly but Wyn Grant is very well connected in the club, so would be surprised if he was idly speculating, that said he did not say who his source was

;o)
Pritchard has a degree as does Taylor I believe. That's why they are coming to Bromley Addicks on 12 October.
I think there is also another player with a sports science degree but can't remember who?
one of his 7 legs during pre-season
^^ how did anyone not quote this^^ we shall nickname him the octopus

He has left.
Shame it didn't work out. Thought he might struggle to get first team action after his performance against Brentford.
Not a criticism.
