To be fair, he joined Scunthorpe and they got relegated. How many players have joined us just before / during a disastrous season, and gone on to be loved by the fans?
i wouldnt worry what scunthorpe fans are saying about him football fans are a fickle bunch just look at people when semedo left us.and remember one teams crap is another teams gold
im sure hughes will be good to have around the squad and then he is playing seems he would try to help the younger players around him! say if we went a goal behind he would stop them getting there heads down! and he works very hard and is hole hearted in tackles which was our complant about francis and mcoxo not doing so!
Seems to have done a decent enough job for Leeds and should hopefully provide valuable experienced cover. Still think Solly will probably start on Saturday though. As the season unfolds with injuries, suspensions, and loss of form, the team we're envisaging now wil probably change considerably and he might yet become a regular later on.
A mate of mine who is a Leeds season ticket holder told me he's his favourite player of the last decade.............and he's a right fussy bleeder. (we can still say bleeder, can't we?).
Strength in depth is a necessity - it will a) make for good competition and b) ensure we don't go in to key games significantly weakened. Yes it may be hard to keep some players happy but it is a problem succesful clubs have to deal with and far better than having no competition.
