Excellent & brave saves by Sullivan 1st half. Elliot can't be blamed for the goal, that was totally down to Morrison. It also looked like Morrison got caught out again with a ball over his head, but it may not have been him. Anyway, if he's hardly played since January let's hope there's a lot of sharpness to come.
It looked like Williams headed about 10 yards wide when well placed to score & Benson tried to set up BWP, when he had a better chance of scoring himself.
It was no coincidence that BWP & Jackson scored with well taken composed goals. I think they are both class at this level.
Am I the only one who finds it disconcerting that I can only recognise about half of our players!!!???
I recognised Eliott, Sullivan, Wagstaff, Docherty, Jackson, BWP and Benson but the rest of them I just could not really identify, although I guessed that the silky skills were those of Bover.
Looking forward to the real thing to see how these new faces fit in
I know there is a separate thread on this but for what its worth I would say that the starting XI (once Green is free from suspension) will be....
Well its starting to warm up abit (well actually its fricken freezing here in Melbourne) ...
The pre season is starting to take shape, BUT we still seem, from commnets and the vids, to have a good half and a bad half, that may well be down to changing hte team completely at half time, but I am very happy with 2 wins and cardiff will be very interesting...
I am hoping that one of the new signings turns out to be a bit of a hoolahan for Norwich a couple of seasons back, and that BWP continues to bang them in as well as JJ doing hsi thing...
Overall I have some proper hope this year, and I am hoping that the shambles of Powelly first half a season has forged character and some big lessons into him..

Chris Powell said he thought he'sd learnt more in 5 months than most would in 3 years , he's certainly had a baptism of fire last season , when i look back at last seasons squad and compare it , it is much better in all respects , i think Hayes might struggle early on, and may come in for a fair bit of stick , purely because he's trying to get match fitness, but given time will get up to speed and better.
After watching the highlights I'm not sure what either Morrison or Elliot could have done. Morrison is a little flat footed but the ball looks to swerve massively towards the goal at last minute and the striker is just quicker than him to react. Elliot had no chance.
I agree with that - Morrison could possibly have tried to fling himself at it but the curve of the ball was perfect for Stead and a nightmare for him. Elliot had no chance at all with it.
I know it is only a couple of 45 minutes but if Bover continues in this form for the rest of pre season, he has to have a chance of starting. WIll be interesting to see how he gets on in coming games.
just got back from holiday, was at the match, some lovely football played, about 80/20 in citys favour sounds about right, i'll try and post a pic later. seb was there as per usual with his flag. was impressed with davidsson, very clever and quick, maybe a little weak but hes only young!
