no need to have a dig at anyone Dan , let them do their own digging
for what it's worth (which is less than nothing) imo
i think he isn't that good a communicator , not light/quick enough on his feet, his handling isn't what i'd expect from a professional keeper and after 100 + games in the side there hasn't been any improvement as far as i can see , i actually think his distribution is reasonable
if he was to get his nutdown and lose some weight and not regain it,he may make himself a sharper keeper
not seen enough of sullivan to know whether he is better
on a positive note, sounds look bover had a stormer, getting to assists against a class side, looking good for a place in our starting 11 at the moment
Agree , just got back and read through all the posts , i know its only preseason , but i didn't expect us to be a team in a higher division , maybe thats because my expectations have been somewhat dimmed in recent years, 2 wins , & 2 clean sheets good start, seriously would have been ecstatic at a clean sheet , against a side in a higher division.
Beating ( or even getting a draw) Cardiff would be an incredible achievement , considering they've just missed out on the Premiership in recent seasons , although saying that i am expecting them to take a nose dive this season, (which means bet on them for promotion!)
Lovely second goal by Jackson, excellent cross a very tidy cushioned header. Looks like we played some good stuff again. Goal against was a bit sloppy, looked mostly Morrison's fault to me, caught flat footed and half asleep. although Elliot might have kept it out. Some good decisive keeping by Sullivan in the first half too.
Think its very harsh to blame Elliot for their goal - Morrison watched the ball go behind him and Elliot was never going to get to it before Stead. Hardly a 'mix up' - more of a f*** up by the defender really. Whether Elliot's starting position was correct is another issue.
I think what has annoyed Henry as he can sense the feelers going out looking for Elliot as a target. It stems from people who honestly believe Sullivan is better, but that isn't enough for them- they want to deride Elliot too. It may seem petty because it hasn't reached a peak yet but good on Henry I say for speaking out before it becomes something more. Elliot is a) a good keeper and b) a Charlton fan. If Powell decides he is the number one, we certainly don't need some fans scrutinising and deriding every error he makes because he isn't their fav. Unlike last season, we have the situation where whoever is between the sticks we shouldn't have any concerns. But last season some were saying Worner was better than Elliot which was frankly ridiculous. Lay off.
We all know that nothing was said about the mix up at first because people thought Sullivan was in goal and he's not a whipping boy. Now it seems Robbie WAS playing when they scored the analysis will come thick fast and negative.
And I have been close to Elliot at away games and he has always been vocal. At Barnet I used him as an excellent example to my son who is a budding keeper as to how vocal he has to be. The Barnet keeper was much quieter. Sullivan may be more vocal, I don't know, but my point is this isn't something people should latch on to because it's not a valid critisism. At Bounemouth, my friends who support them were calling him every name under the sun and said he was the best keeper they had seen in the league.

Henry Irving said :- "Elliot at fault for their goal no doubt."
Yes it looks like you may well be right again, even if you were being ironic :-)
Yes, he's at or was playing for Real Oviedo.

Highlights on Bristol City site.
Obviously can't tell if this is a true reflection but looks like they had a few good chances in the 1st half but we played some nice stuff in the 2nd.

Good result not to excited as its a pre season, but we seem to be preparing well
Still 5th i see even with 2 wins + 4 GD going to be a tough ask this year
