Good prospect that lad, i have been watching a lot of the spurs youth due to their facilities being open to my sons team for us to be better coaches, very good on the ball
I doubt that Spurs will sell the lad, as he's only just signed a contract extension with us.
He's already had League experience on loan at Wycombe, Torquay and Bournemouth, so I think the next stage in his development would be a spell with a top Championship team or one of the Premier League strugglers.
I didn't think he'd signed the new deal on offer from Spurs yet and if he hasn't, the 200k would be about right for a development fee. Very good player and very decent prospect for the future. Let's hope it happens.
Oggy, Oggy, Oggy you have fallen for a schoolboy error. On CharltonLife, rule one of a defender is,as Henry points out, You must be over 6 ft 1 Rule two is Can he defend.
I think MART77 maybe spot on se the attached article from last month from the reliable Bournmouth Echo, the paper all Charlton fans read for information on their club

Damn! Wrong again.
No wonder Simon Francis was signed........ He's over 6'1". So he was qualified by "rule one of a defender".

Tango has hoist me by my own petard. I was wrong. I apologise Oggy Rule 1 - height Rule 2 - twitter ability Rule 3 - Can he defend
Plaayer, you should know if Rule 4 and Rule 2 are combined, then Can he defend is relegated to Rule 4. Clear? Rule 1 - height Rule 2 - twitter ability Rule 3 - Does he take his wife up the Oxo Rule 4 - Can he defend

My Bournemouth supporting colleague has told me this morning that he now hates Charlton more than he hates Southampton...LOL

Also not forgetting Kyle Walker.
Could be a goer this one. I would have thought that in letting Francis go we would have a replacement already lined up.
I'd like to see Solly get a run in the 1st team this season, he's been unlucky with injuries past few seasons but he never let's anyone down.
It was Kyle Walker and Kyle Naughton they signed from Sheff Utd.
As for Smith I saw him against us in FA Youth Cup game at The Valley a few years ago. He looked promising, but I can't remember much about him.
Think he'd be a decent signing, would probably have to fight for a place with Solly rather than be guaranteed first choice.
