Given the financial parameters then operating he was a reasonable signing for Parkinson to make having looked decent at the level in tandem with Bailey not so long before.
However for whatever reason it never really worked and best for him and us if he goes in my view.
Think that's a fair point. I always thought he tried his best but simply wasn't anywhere near good enough. He replaced Bailey at Southend and it seemed reasonable to think he could do the same here. I'm glad he's going but, like Francis, I don't think he warrants a lot of the slagging off and abuse. He gave a way a few goals and, several times, looked a bit like he gave-up-the-chase when he got beat. Don't think any player goes out there to play badly - he just looked out of his depth a lot of the time and thats not all his fault. Think a few too many on here (including me at times) just expect too much of League 1 players - especially those we had last season - I mean Francis cost £35,000 that about a third of what Ashley Cole gets a week(!) and people still seem to expect a similar level of play.
Bloody hell, 60 odd posts on the worst Charlton player for over twenty years. And some are sticking up for him !! Wouldnt bother me if he were just crap but no effort, shirking challenges etc. You should have seen him at the game at D&R, absolutely disgraceful. The sooner he goes the better. Ive had enough of this debate, not going to spend any more of my time discussing such a useless, waste of space who masquerades as a footballer and takes our heard earned money for doing so. As they say in Dragon's Den, I'm Out.

You can always come up with a point of view that defends every Charlton pllayer you've ever seen play, i'm agreed i think this player is totally indefensible , i'm sure he's is a nice bloke and a decent person , but in our club colours he's simply not been good enough to wear the shirt.
In the end someone has to be strong enough and say enough is enough , and move on , i for one will be rejoicing if this one goes through , i was at the Dagenham away game , and it was disgusting , i never want to see my team play like that again , we should have got a refund.
Leroy- football is about opinions you burke. No need to get personal because my opinion differs to yours. How long can this thread go without mentioning the Oxo Tower? He is a top bloke in person.
Top bloke in person? So what. Shocking footballer.
BlackForest, I may have been a little naughty in bringing that up..... it wasnt documented as I heard it from the horses mouth.
I told him at the time what I thought, and have decided to let it go (for now) on the off chance he starts banging in some goals....if theres no sign of double figures @ Xmas, ill turn intoa boo boy
I didn't see that many games last season but in the ones that I did see, I didn't feel McCormack was any worse than the rest of them. I can only speak as i find of course. Having said that I'd be surprised if Alonso, Hollands, Stephens or Pritchard were worse than him, so I'm not too sad to see him go.
I don't think that a persons Twitter remarks give any real indication of a persons character one way or another.

Unless I have missed anyone really obvious ....I'm coming the the conclusion that the only Southend player to go to Charlton in recent times and not be useless would be Nicky Bailey?

The fact he hasn't been offered a new contract says it all, really...
If he ain't good enough for Powell, he ain't good enough for me...

Are you his dad?.
Getting ready for the sex wee if this is true.
Can't remember another summer like this for comings (as it were) and goings.
Cool, it's still close to the Oxo Tower. Everyone's a winner.
Large / West - Thank you!
Having said that, Benson was saying how underwhelmed / unimpressed he was with appointment of Powell.... Does he not deserve stick too?
When? Do you have a link?

So the player himself told you?

If you sign this chap, Daggers, then your stock will rise as he is different gravy.
