That's why I love watching Masterchef - it amazes me what incredible food some people are capable of producing under intense pressure - because I know I wouldn't have a chance of doing so myself...
Kudos to you Chunes, most of us can't stand the heat and thus stay out of the kitchen!
So - to take that example and apply it to my profession, if I'm migrating an application to a new platform and am responsible for provisioning the virtual machines, networking and back-end storage for it, but someone else is responsible for the database migration and web server configuration, then it's legitimate for me to start bellowing and swearing my nuts off at them if they don't perform one of the steps in time which then means I have to revert a server back to it's original configuration? Believe me, this happens on a regular basis in IT because of time pressures or other work constraints - but no-one gets c***ted off for it.
I'm not just deliberately having a pop at you here Chunes - I just don't 'get' why chefs think what they do is any different or less stressful than anything other people do. My analogy above is similar to something that would happen in pretty much any job - but if anyone started shouting the odds at me if I'd fucked something up there'd be some furniture moving going on.

Come on Leroy. You'd obviously just turn it off and then turn it on again.
Well almost a year on we've had a few near misses, but getting a job at a similar level hasn't proved the cake walk that I'd hoped. All's well that ends well, got a better gig at a better company. 6 weeks and I'm out of there. Resisted the urge to give it the big fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhhqqqqqqqqquuuuuuuue as I needed them to let me out of doing my full 3 months' notice, so was nice and professional. My Chief Operating Officer (the little knobhead) has kept his distance like a man that realises he no longer has a whip hand. Happy days, few pints and win for the reds tonight and it's been a great night.

welldone mate taking the higher ground is truely the right thing to do, these situations have a habit of going full circle, i worked for a complete clown, he never listened rode rough shot over everyone , duely got his promotion and moved on to quite a high level,
he recently applied for a VP postition and a great job across Europe
only to find that one of the people he screwed, who had left as a result of this knobend had come back via our Irish bottlers and he had successfully carved a great career out there and was head hunted into the VP postition that was duely becoming available due to his promotion again to Nth America
believe me when i sat with him last week on his leaving do, he couldnt wait to tell me how good it felt watching the man in question squirm as he walked through the door on what was his biggest interview to date and the penny dropping that it was the very same man who he screwed royally that was about to conduct the interview
needless to say he failed in the interview not solely due to revenge but because he lost complete focus and fell apart infront of his potential new bosses and interviewd like an 18yr old in his first job
my old man told me watch who you shit on when shitting on anyone because it will always come back to you one day
Not a million miles away SLL, financial services. Worked for RBS a short while after they took over the Natty West many years ago and would never go back after that. Do you have good/bad experience with them yourself?

You'd go and work at a DFS warehouse?
