I imagine it's a civil offence rather than criminal, and the guilty plea would have resulted in a fine from the train company rather than a prison sentence or similar.

From the TFL site;
Q. Will I get a Criminal Record? A. Yes, if you are convicted of the offence, you would have a criminal record registered in your name. I
I stand corrected, and that makes those regularly skipping the fare a little foolish. It may save you money now, but how much will it cost you if you get caught, get a criminal record and then lose your job and can't get another?
I'm lucky in that I work from home, and it would have to be a very special job offer to convince me to ever commute again.
Randy got caught tho because he had more than a single ticket..which made his offence alot more serious in southeasterns eyes. wont get taken to court for a single fair dodge.
Got caught jumping the wall at barnehurst and hiding behind a car.
Got caught with a weekley from Waterloo to charing x as vg said
And got caught using my birds ticket. When asked if the girl in the picture was me I should have said yes before the op. Wondering now if they would check my medical records
Look I have to wait for hours at the station to find a decent looking female fare dodger. I think it's only fair to get a bit of ticket barrier action!
Probably shouldn't be trying to squeeze through a ticket barrier illegally then.
That would be no excuse - if she could prove that you had used excessive force by bruising her minge with the thrust of your buttocks, you'd be in a lot of bother. I believe there's a formula in existence used to work it out.
