My warped theory with no substance or concrete evidence, so means nothing:-
IF we have signed both Green/Stephens, that good news is being delayed until hol's are over & Semedo finalises his move to Palace, to make it easier for us lot to stomach & for Jose.
Our free kicks around the box have been awful over the last 20 years, we hardly ever test the keeper only testing the agility of the fans behind the goal. Jensen was meant to be a specialist set piece taker but he probably only scored 5 free kicks when he was with us. So if danny green can hit the target regularly I will be happy.

Andy Ried was the last player we had that could curl a ball around the wall. Not sure how many he scored but at least it was exciting when he put the ball down because there was always that chance. Not any more.

If they have been signed then frankly the only reason that I can see for delay is news management.
on Danny Green if we do have a player that takes a good set piece you also have to factor in that teams will be less likely to give fouls away around the goal area so therefore we should statisically create more goal scoring oppotunities. So having this threat will be good for the team
not in the past few weeks, he hasnt. If you were true Charlton, you would have ploughed through the 'Now we are 5' thread and understood we have not scored for weeks now.

Charlton had a £400,000 offer accepted for the winger on Friday and that alerted League One rivals Sheffield Wednesday as well as Championship duo Peterborough and Crystal Palace, who are all now ready to match that bid.
Burnley and Ipswich are also believed to be monitoring the situation closely and weighing up whether to enter the race for Green.
The 22-year-old scored 12 times last season as the Daggers narrowly avoided beating the drop from League One and is regarded as one of the hottest prospects in the Football League.
hope he doesn't slip through our fingers and become the golden boot boy for a rival next. i love hearing all the latest gossip but still prefered it in the old days of curbs when all business was done behind closed doors without a sniff, or it wasn't done at all (a lot of the time). i hate gazumping!

Neath is a good start, especially on a Friday night.
