Anyone fancy Waggy at RB if Green signs? I like Solly but his lack of height will be targeted, he's not the quickest and I cannot forget his nightmare at AFC Wimbledon last pre-season. Francis - don't get me started.
Really? Waggy is incredibly lightweight. Can't remember him tackling either. Interceptions possibly.
I have just heard Danny Green is with people from our club as we speak abroad somewhere, any ideas where???
As soon as cash is recieved into Daggers announcement will be made
Absolutely hilarious. The thought of people from our club jumping on a plane to the states to sign green is fantasy. No offence nla but I ain't buying that. If your source is right that everett et al are currently in bellagio with a contract and a pen then 50 squid to the upstarts from me.
My Daggers source who played against us in the FA Cup says its a done deal?
;-)
Who is your source? I really hope so, I think promotion is nailed on this season.
Not saying his name as he is on twitter and if something does go wrong I don't want him getting caned!!
But I will say he is good friends with all the players at Dagenham and played for them for quite a few years! He played both games against us in 2000!!
both would be very good, the midfield is looking so strong. CP must of seen how it lost us games by not holding the ball and making a presence in games last year.
Dagenham & Redbridge have admitted defeat in their battle to keep hold of in-demand winger Danny Green after accepting a bid from Charlton Athletic.
The club have previously knocked back what were seen as derisory opening offers from Peterborough United and Sheffield Wednesday for the 22-year-old and now the Addicks, who have already signed six players this summer, are in prime position to add to their ranks once again.
However, Green is currently on holiday and discussions with Charlton will not be able to take place until he returns at the beginning of July at the earliest. With more than a week to go, it could open the window for other clubs to try and match the offer.
Crystal Palace are another club interested in the Harlow-born wideman, but Charlton’s bid - which is believed to be worth in excess of £350,000 - may prove too rich for rivals suitors.
Since making the switch to Dagenham & Redbridge from non-league club Bishop’s Stortford two years ago, Green has been a revelation with double figure goals and assists tally in each of his debut seasons in League Two and League One.
“I’ll be very sorry to see Danny go but it was always going to be difficult to keep him and it’s a good deal for everyone involved,” Daggers boss John Still was quoted as saying. While current club captain Mark Arber tweeted: “Good Luck to @Greendog7 (Danny Green’s Twitter username). The stats don’t lie and he deserves his move. Wish him well !”
Charlton have also previously expressed an interest in Romain Vincelot, who scored 12 goals from midfield for Dagenham last season, but it is as yet unknown if they have made an official approach for the Frenchman
Lennie Lawrence has dismissed speculation linking us with Dagenham & Redbridge's Danny Green, but has admitted Huddersfield's Jordan Rhodes is on the radar.
'We are not interested in Green, no disrespect to him but we've got bigger fish to fry. Rhodes is on the radar, we are still looking at him and there might possibly be a deal.'
We seem to be scrubbing off as many links as we can confirm at the moment.
"bigger fish to fry"... an interesting way to talk about, Dale Jennings aside, one of the hottest properties, if not the hottest, outside the top 2 divisions!
Still, no complaints for me if that's true. Hopefully we can get DG tied up asap as I don't like the sound of there being a 10 day window for the world and his wife to gazump us.
