I am happy as Powell is getting players he wants or has been presented and agreed to work with. Let's see what it does to our play and our league position come August 6th - but I'm giving him plenty of time as we have to trust the manager....
Don't know much about them but happy all the same. Can see Alonso playing the same role as Kishishev did last year for Brighton - let's just hope he has the same impact! Onwards and upwards....
Last season we signed Southends finest and a striker from Dagenham, unproven at this level plus some loanees.
This season so far we have made signings that include a player who has 100 appearances in La Liga, a proven goal-scorer at this level, a box to box midfielder with a track record at this level, a former Gooner left/wing back who has pace to burn and a decent Keeper
Very happy, just Listened to BBC Radio London and there is talk of bringing in 5 or 6 more new players. This might convince me to go to more home games next season, will be going to more away games , thats for sure.
Perhaps the moaning will at least subside for a bit.
At the end of the day - I don't have a clue whether these signings will work or whether we have just signed this seasons Mouts, Abbot and McOxo...
...but there seems to be some quality in there and hopefully this signals the return of total football to SE7.
I am confident we will see more faces, but this isn't a bad start for us given that it is June and traditionally we like to sign players the night before the season starts
If we signed the entire CL winning Barcelona side some people would stil find something to moan at.
To date we've signed a new GK who looked ok playing at this level for us, a striker who has a good scoring record in L1, an untried left back, a goal scoring midfielder with over 100 La Liga games under his belt and a few in the premiership for Bolton, another midfielder who last season was one of the best in L1 and we've got them in before training has started.
All we need now are a couple of centre-backs, a back up striker and a back up left back. The hard work that Powell, Vetere and others are doing is paying off. Also interesting for me is that these players look to be comfortable ball playing footballers. it was noticeable that after Powell came in that he was trying to get them to keep the ball on the deck a bit more and move it around, these players look like they are fitting that vision.
Despite the lack of CBs the squad is looking on paper to be stronger than last year. We need to move McCormack on and fill in one or two gaps, perhaps get a couple of loanees in and we'll be there.
We really dont have anything to worry about re the centre back situation. Theres no way powelly is gonna start the season with doc & daily as our main cb's. We will 100% get a couple of new cbs in

I'm very happy. Unless I've missed something, apart fron the signing on/wage costs, all the new players come in on frees. if we have really bid some money for the Bournemouth and Colchester blokes it means we have a little bit of money for the defenders we undoubtedly need, or to re-sign Jose. It could turn out to be shrewd and realistic business we're doing this summer. I admit I know naff all about the players barring Sullivan so wait to see how they play and gel...but skilled footballer though he can be (twice a season) I am not broken hearted Racon has gone.
Happy here too! Just think we desperately need a no nonsense centreback, the type who looks like he'd deck you for looking at him. So once we have him I'll be VERY happy!
happier - none of the signings are guaranteed successes but could work out - we do need a few more signings though and I would like at least 1 pleasant surprise.
well im unhappy, been stalking this place waiting for things to happen and nothing. i pop out for the afternoon, come back and its all kicked off big time... haha!
what a touch, lets just hope we can get all these other signings in too that powell is going on about, it has cheered me up really!

Powell seems to be in the process of putting together a decent passing side .......perhaps in the style of Poyet's Brighton?
Remember the Board's mandate to Powell ...... to improve the quality of the team play, and coach individual players to produce better performances?
Perhaps the moaning will at least subside for a bit.
;o)
I am cautiously optimistic.
