I've been encoding some of dad's old VHS tapes from the 80s for Father's Day. Figured there might be a few more who'd like to see the goals from the Everton win back in '86! Hope the Finches guys don't mind, figured they're probably not selling these any more...
UPDATE: Scroll down for the 4-3 rainy thriller against Watford, and the comeback against, and demolition of, Liverpool in the Soccer Sixes.

That has made my weekend watching that again. That was the first time I had seen us win a game in the top flight and against one of the best teams in the counrty in a great game made it very special.
Good one Jimmy! How about a few more.My videos are kaput.
God I remember this one! I was about to set off and meet my mates but the wife put severe 'brownie point' pressure on me. I'm afraid I opted for home life.
Also, despite the great memories of 85-86 etc, is it sacrilege to say it looks a bit pedestrian? I'm sure I'll be shot down in flames for suggesting it looks a bit like League 1 highlights!
I remember this game.. Shame I didn't see the bloody 3rd goal. I was standing in front of the Arthur Waite? Stand by the advertising boards and when Melrose scored some steward was standing in the way !!
Jim Melrose what a striker, just a shame he never stayed around too long.....but he never did did he !
Thanks for putting that up Jimmy
Thanks for that, I made a late decision to go to that match, and have never regretted it since.
Yep and the old 1-11 numbering system on the backs of player's shirts, or #12 in John Pearson's case. .
Selhurst istill a shit heap though, there are some things that never change...
Got my first parking ticket that evening, having abandoned my car by the Shytehurts gates as I was running v late having hauled myself halfway across the country.!
Jimmy Hill signed my programme too!
Colin Walsh had a left foot sent from Heaven itself, what a player.
One of my first ever games.
We did beat Leicester in the next game (the following week) 2-0 at Selhurst but your memory is playing tricks regarding some of the facts!
Melrose's most notable contribution against Leicester was to be elbowed by visiting captain Steve Walsh who was sent off for violent conduct.
Gary Lineker did not play for Leicester that day, indeed he had already buggered off to Barcelona!
Both Charlton goals came in the second half and were both scored by Mark Stuart.
Following that game we went to West Ham and won 3-1 (the famous 9-second goal) but then lost our next five games in a row and did not win again until December 28th when we beat Man City 5-0.
I have bundles of old charlton footage, I used to tape any old news clip from the telly (saddo) inter mingled with clips from "tutti frutti" and alike from my early days lol
