very underwhelmed. Cant see there being more than 5,000 at this one.
underwhelmed?, statistically Reading is the best remaining championship club from last season. Who did you fancy Real Madrid at Wembley?

West Ham, Palace, Millwall, Brighton at their new ground....

no chance, it's a 450 mile round trip and I cant afford too many nights in even a cheap hotel (do such places still exist) .....  BUT .... if I still lived  in London, of course I'd be there.

Wonder if we will try and change the Reading pre season game. Playing them in possibly two consecutive home games would affect the attendance at one or the other plus one or both manager may be tempted to put out a reserve side for the pre season game which would defeat the object of it.

That will explain why you think there will be a big crowd there. You don't/can't attend evening Carling Cup games in the early rounds, when the crowds have been reducing year on year, after our lack of success, year on year.

Probably only have the East & Lower West open for home fans. Big crowd my arse. 7,000 max, unless we make some fantastic signings before then.

Can't we pull out of the competition.

Just say we don't want to play in it anymore.

And don't tell me the FA will bring sanctions against us. Without us, the competition would be meaningless.

Come on lads, who really gives a flying toss about this low grade cup and who we are going to play. We are never gonna win it. We are never gonna see a strong starting line up. When we used to put out our strongest line ups years ago  we'd get beat by a bunch of no hopers from lower down the leagues. We are going to be playing a Reading X1 in front of 4/5000 thousnd crowd, half the ground open and if your lucky we might get one goal.
At the moment we dont even know who our team will consist of next season but as sure as it rains during Wimbledon  we will get beat. All we need concern ourselves about regarding Charlton is getting out of this division because if we dont this season then i'm afraid we are going nowhere.
