Not particularly. More interested in who runs the club, manages the team and plays on the pitch. We've been spoilt over the years with transparency to the point we expect and demand total disclosure. That doesn't happen in the real world.
I very much liked the way that financial security was mentioned time and time again. Don't think the next few seasons are going to be a rocket ride but I feel good about what's happening more and more. COYR
From the fragments it seems we have a bigger budget than other clubs. Did they say bigger than ALL the other clubs or most?
Still losing £5m so that indicates the budgets generally have not increased much as that was the estimated figure (£4 to £5m) last season.
But crucially the owners can cover those loses so we some stability and can build for the future.
Not sure what to make about Wigan being described as "relegation fodder". Seems a bit disrespectful to a side that has now been in the top flight almost as long as we were last time around. What context was this said in?
Henry it was said in context of the very big clubs ie Man U being able to gain experience for their young players by loaning out to "relegation fodder" clubs like Wigan and still get prem games.

Varney said it. He was commenting on Tom Cleverly and how Ferguson was very clever using loans to lesser Premier League sides.
He did say "no disrespect" before using the phrase.
Interesting when Slater was questioned about whether he was in it for the long term. Commented that he wanted atleast 1 season as a Premier League chairman.
The route to the PL seems to be a 4-5 year one.
A bit coy when asked if promotion was required this year.
Long pause followed by "well, the club wouldnt go out of business if we dont go up this year". Suspect CP will be on thin ice if we arent promoted this year.
I am very glad that Slater and Jimenez came in when they did. To think we would of been in administration, deducted 10 points and had sold our players in January, Varney was spot on saying we would have been in League Two next year. We can look at Plymouth and know without the take over that would have been us.
Maybe not so much on the pitch but we had a good season as a club and are in a great position to go forward. Huge season for us next year.
Wigan relegation fodder but managed a cup final and have beat numerous good teams while there with poxy crowds has anything actually been said of any value dear me the season is over
Why does everyone think we would have gone down with -10pts. Kept Parky stayed in top four we would have ended up in the same place as we did after the bad run.

Peter Varney said we would have gone down. -10 points, players sold in January, no purchase of Wrigh-Phillips. I make him right.
Sounds encouraging (after the going out of business, administration, -10 points stuff)... comforted that if we are not pursuing McDonald it is because our sights are higher and not because of any competition/financial concerns
Leon Legge the Brentford player I reckon, shame because him and Pearce would fit the bill for me
No mention of players, other than they were asked re Cody and said we weren't going for him.
They kept talking about not wasting money, but doing the right thing.
Mentioned we spent £11M on Gray, Varney & McLeod & we lost £10M & achieved nowt.
They said Brighton got promoted spending reasonable sums.
I still think they are looking for value for money, so if you can get someone good on a free, that's ideal.
If you can get someone for £100,000 that's worth £200,000 - good deal
Hopefully, if you can get someone for £400,000 that's worth £1M - great deal.
That's my take & maybe I'm being optimistic, but I think they are looking for value for money & up to a point if it's a good deal, they will look at it (within reason).
I would definitely agree with the strategy of buying to mark up, it can be very profitable if you can put in the initial outlay. That's why I think there's some truth in the Wiggins offer as I can see him doubling and more value during his contract, that will be the plan.
Well I didn't hear them but wish I had. Everything that people are reporting they said sounds pretty much what I thought.
I am greatly encouraged by what I am reading. Clearly we were in the financial smelly stuff when they took over. Losing £5M a year is a nightmare scenario unless somebody is prepared to bankroll the club. I am thankful that TJ and MS and their backers have stepped up to the plate.
Thank goodness they came in when they did but to me murray got away with it for too long cos curbs's miracles keeping us in the prem papered over the cracks and the poor running of our club was exposed as soon as Sir Alan left the building and no real contingency plan was in place Oh the tears and screaming when Mick Collins said about our poor financial position from the everything is rosey @ charlton brigade, they all seem to be quiet now

On the subject of good deals, there are still a number of free agents out there who could be worth a closer look at:
Pablo counago - is a quality striker who i remember scoring against us in the championship, could be a useful addition for back up at league 1 level
ashley grimes - a striker released by millwall, who is fairly young at 24, and scored 17times in 25 last year for lincoln
craig fagan - former hull city: who was impressive before his leg break, could be given a chance at league 1 level
andy barcham - mentioned already, but was surprised he stayed with gillingham as has quality for league 1 and hopefully we could beat leyton orient to sign him
nathan ellington - still only 29, and has always been a good goalscorer when given a run in the team - a very useful addition i believe at league 1 level
Jason euell - as mentioned on here before, would be very effective for us, as still scored goals for doncaster and played very well for blackpool in their promotion season - a good head to have around the place
kishishev - a good versatile back up to add strength to the squad
Giles Barnes - west brom winger/attacker who could be difficult to attract but who was blessed with so much quality before a long injury, didnt work for him at west brom but i believe he has so much quality to offer anywhere across the front 6 and, he just needs a good run to get back to his best
Just a few options that i found on the out of contract list that we could make a use of
They aren't going to risk money on giles barnes if they want value. Great player but very injury prone. Big gamble. Worried slater says he wants to be a prem league manager for at least a year, means they will cash in ASAP if we get to prem?

I'll take that wouldn't you?
Yes. Just wanted to think that they really cared about the club like Murray. LIE TO ME SLATER.
Of course they want success to create a margin... how else do you think they are going to make their living
The rub for us is they cannot make money (apart from via asset-stripping, though as long as we have PV involved we can sleep soundly on that front) without us benefiting by securing at least 1 promotion. For them to succeed we have to as well.

Have to laugh. Months of 'would we have gone up if PP stayed' debates and now ' would we have gone down if he'd stayed and in Admin?'. Please move on
Said there were two lists. Working intensively on first choice players. Second list is much longer.
Only actual player mentioned was McDonald. We looked but arent persuing.
Brentford player was mentioned. Apparently he expected us to double his money.
