Youngster by the looks of it, so we may still sign Sullivan.
  • Vetere's overseas scouting network strikes gold.

It's about time we found out what was really out there in the universe eh.

    Worner's like for like replacement...
  • Formerly of Ipswich Town academy
  • The next Deano?
  • Apparently he is a left footer and very good with crosses.
  • I'm so underwelmed................that news combined with some other rumours that we are signing more league 2 players make me want to weep !!

Let me know when we make a serious purchase.

  • Ha ha, you're going to be even more underwhelmed Golfie...

This is the Bury in the Rymans, not in League 2 !!!
  • one for the future , so there is some sort of long term plan.
  • James Scowcroft plays for them, he's fallen down a bit
  • Who do we send to go and watch Ryman League football?

  • Anyone who looks at the Bury site and sees his photograph cannot possibly think that he will be our new No. 1 !!!  He is obviously part of the development for the future - something that must go along in parallel with the first team re-build - but also good to see.

Can i ask  what would be a serious purchase for  a league one club.

  • From Bury Town FC:

Another of our crop of talented youngsters has been offered a chance in the professional game.

Nick Pope has been offered a two year deal with Charlton Athletic
and everybody at Bury Town is absolutely delighted for him. Popey is a
fantastic lad with a great attitude and fully deserves his chance to
make it in the pro game. The offer followed an invitation to train with
the League One side a few weeks ago and after impressing the staff
there, they watched Nick play in a couple of games for us. Nick was
also a member of the West Suffolk College squad and has represented
    England Colleges.

Having challenged and temporarily replaced Marcus Garnham, Nick
showed us all what he was capable of when he wore the number 1 shirt
for us in a few games and Charlton obviously feel confident in offering
him this opportunity. As well as training full time, he will also
coincide this with his studies at a college near to Charlton.

Although we are sad to see Popey leave, this is a wonderful
opportunity for someone who fully deserves it and I know we will all
watch his career develop with interest in the future. We will
definitely see him back at Ram Meadow during the pre-season of
2012-2013 as he will feature in the Charlton side which will visit us
as part of the agreement between the two parties.

    Good luck Popey.

  • to be fair guys we got Elliot from Erith and Belvedere from the Kent Premier League.
  • Clearly just seen as a promising player, will give Conor Gough some competition in the Kent Cup games and reserve friendlies...!
  • he's got the shirt on the right way round so has all the attributes required for a third tier charlton keeper

i'd make him no.1 and start a bidding war for robbie

So he goes to college then. Brainy for a footballer.

Interesting how we gave him a 2 year deal, yet Worner only got a year.

  • Will please the Charlton Loyal site
  • good that we are receiving all news of signings from everywhere but the Club. That's three now and counting.
  • Just tweeted @CAFCOfficial and said the same thing.  I make it 4: Hollands, Pope, Ruben Bover and possibly Bolasie.

Got a big press conference lined up at The Valley, going to be a whole bench of them behind the mic live on SSN at 6pm.

In all fairness only 3 of those 4 are done so it's not like they've missed all of them ;-)
  • Ruben Bover? Bolasie? Where are these from?
  • Ruben Bover? Bolasie? Where are these from?
Bover has announced it on his own personal twitter a few weeks ago.

Bolasie is just speculation, nothing more.

Are you counting Bolasie as one of the third? It only said we were set to make a move, didn't suggest a move was anywhere near being completed.

Ruben Bover has been training for us for a while and everyone at the club is seriously impressed with him. Bolasie is a tricky winger playing for plymouth, there's a youtube vid of him knocking about.
