RIP all the empty trophy cabinet & derelict open top bus memes. Plus all the jokes about what has happened since Spurs won a trophy
It really is the end of an era. I'm gonna miss the spursy memes. Congrats to @john

As mentioned before on ‘facts that don’t sound true, but are’ thread…

Spurs, despite all the jibes, have won a major trophy in every decade since 1950, bar the 2010s.

Only, funny enough, Manchester United can better that record.
Who invited Millwall to the conversation?

I don’t quite get all the hate for Spurs. Yes, some of their fans are pricks but I’d take them over Arsenal all day long
Fair enough but they played Man Utd not Arsenal
the same Man Utd that have in the past stopped palace twice and the scum once in the fa cup final (so on that basis alone I don’t hate them as much as the rest )
i mean both clubs have gobby sets of fans
    they all do
    West Ham spurs and arsenal
    year ends in one bollox
I want them all to lose
I don’t want to see other  football fans giving it the big one , let em suffer like we do

A lot of us grew up knowing nothing but continued Man U success. I personally am delighted to see the fall off since Ferguson left and long may it continue. That said, even in a period when they are absolutely terrible, they've still won the odd trophy, FA Cup last year, Carabao the year before, won the Europa 7-8 years ago.

Winning last night would've got them back into the CL, enabled a better rebuild and given their finances a huge boost. Keiran Maguire estimates they'll lose out on at least 120m by not winning last night. Now they're fucked and i hope their glory hunting fanbase around the world cried themselves to sleep last night contemplating more years of misery.

They ran out of winners medals, last 3 or 4 Spurs players didn’t get one!
Sunday morning teams would have to order extra if they wanted them.

Last night was Spurs' first clean sheet in 13 games against domestic opposition since..........they beat Man U 1-0 in February.

I personally don't mind Spurs, it's Arsenal and Chelsea fans (particularly online) that i find insufferable.

I have a few mates that support Spurs and i'm happy to see them win something for the first time in almost 20 years. Like with Newcastle winning the Carabao (and unfortunately Palace with the FA Cup) at least it means something to their fans. To the fans of Liverpool/City/United who they beat it's 'just another trophy'.

Let city win the lot , no one knows any city fans and any down here are all glory boy fools …. These clubs are all proud of their trophies , more different clubs winning trophies dilutes it (less different fa cup winners makes it more of an exclusive club we were part of)  , don’t mind a northern team celebrating out the way , don’t need these lot in my face ….
Leicester winning the prem (from the outside) was without doubt the greatest footballing success story ever and what made it better was the spunts missing out and finishing Third in a two horse race. Love Vardy for that .

i have plenty of mates who support the scum, palace , spurs , West Ham , Arsenal, Orient etc I want them all to drop the leagues fail every time be miserable with their clubs
this is football no time for rationality or being nice

@oohaahmortimer you do crack me up!
You might want to consider whether allowing yourself to become so wound up by these people is why they wind you up!
I know that if I’m doing a wind up, I’m going to target someone who’ll give the funniest reaction! If I was a spurs fan I’d be targeting you before you knew it!

    Oh and meant to say...

So bloody pleased for Ange.  He's taken some stick, some warranted, some not so but he's stuck to his guns.

I'm still on the fence with him, I flip flop like mad.  Last night proved we can defend when we've got Romero and Van der Venn fully fit but we need to see them levels every week.  I'm not going to be hard on him.  He's done something only the great Bill Nick and Keith Burtenshaw achieved in winning a European trophy.

Levy needs to back him with quality players with experience in the summer.  Lets see what happens.

Now lets us hope Charlton do the business this weekend to make it the best week in a long time.

Spurs were also missing their two most creative players. What excuse did United have? It also says it all that, as poor as Spurs have been they have beaten United four times this season.

True and we were also missing Bergvall who won the clean sweep of fhe season awards and had played himself into Ange's first pick.

Man Utd didnt have anything about them at all.  I knew they were poor but bloody hell, they were terrible.  We've beaten them 4 times this season, that seems insane to say.

To be fair, it was a dire game.  I dont remember us forcing Onana into a save of any sort.  Vicario made a save from the winger who came on as sub but that was it apart from Van Der Venn's miraculous goal line clearance.  I'm WFH today so am planning to watch the game back to get my head around it without the stress and booze of last night.

Fair play to Ange, i think he's lucky to still have his job given the dismal domestic form but he showed last night he can change his game plan.

It's not always playing a high line because "it's who we are mate". He knew United are poor and can't score goals because they have Hojlund up front, so was perfectly happy to just sit back and let them fire crosses in all night knowing Romero and Van de Ven are going to head them away all night.

Congrats, and yeh agree with that.

There will be new life at the club via winning europa league and the players will likely now want him remaining in charge for next season.

I saw Sons post match interview. He's a likable bloke and a loyal talented footballer.

Obviously they’ll play but saw this little snippet on Bloomberg

Crystal Palace may not be guaranteed a Europa League place next season as, under UEFA rules, clubs with common shareholders cannot play in a European competition during the same season. Crystal Palace’s co-owner, Todd Boehly, also owns a major stake in France’s Olympique Lyonnais
