[cite]Posted By: Danny Addick[/cite]His comment last week was in reply to @eyt123 who by all accounts is giving a few of our players a hard time on there
Yep we have got some 'interested' tweeters amongst the CAFC clan on twitter. I do wonder why the players reply to half of the sh^t some people put to them on there, but as far as Reid goes- it could be a blessing in disguise. If he leaves us then fine, an over-rated player who has done NOTHING for us this season will be removed from our wage bill to make way for a Powell signing.
I'm not sure why there's such outrage at his comments. Surely it's a good thing he's frustrated he' not playing.
No pleasing some people... most the players are accused of not giving a shit.
Sick of reading half the stuff to the players on Twitter. It's no good for the soul. People just day some real crap stuff. Easy to be abusive behind a keyboard.
Anyone wondering about Reid's intelligence just needs to watch the video on his website introducing his "upcoming" clothing range and charity. It's like something a 10 year old would do with his mate and stick on Youtube.
Having said that, I don't care what he does or says off the pitch or what his IQ is if he's delivering the goods like he promised in early spells with us. As he's not, and hasn't for the entire year, it makes idiotic comments like the one he tweeted last night more painful to read and leads me to agree with those who suggest he can "do one" at the end of the season...
I personally dont particularly rate him. His decision making is suspect at best and rarely gets his head up, but I still have no idea exactly what he's supposed to have done wrong other than respond and have an opinion. I'd rather he had the hump at the current situation than be happy to sit on the bench not caring about the team and not caring whether he played. Comparing him to Marcus Bent is frankly ridiculous.
I think basically that Reid has been sussed after looking dangerous last season, and now teams have two men marking him which leaves him nowhere to go. Basically a bit of a one trick pony, and judging by his comments overestimating his own importance.
If people are so upset with what players say on twitter why not just unfollow them and not follow threads on CL about their tweets. People reporting tweets on here just include tweet alert in the subject lines.
In this way all those whose blood pressure seems to be going through the roof will be a lot healthier.
Note to CP: when you sign a player include in contract a tweet banning order.
Been a little bit of a over-reaction to the comments, he sounds frustrated that he isn't playing nothing wrong with that imo.
As I said last night in this thread he obviously isn't working hard enough in training to make the squad, also noticed CP puts more defenders on the bench for away games.
Scoham - Very poor man management by Parkinson IMO. Why isn't our best player even on the bench FFS. A good manager would get the best out of him.
Terrible attitude, get rid of him Powell, not what we need.
Seriously though I wonder what's going on. I said before he was overrated last year, apparently too good for this league. Now some don't rate him at all. Should be able to get more out of him than we have this season, but he also needs to fight for his place like every other player. Not really sure he's done that, when he has played in the last few months he's not impressed (though to be fair, I think sometimes he's come on as a sub and not had a chance to get on the ball).
LOL Spot on
Curb-it - Will this turn into a bigger hounding than the oxo tower.
Most likely

Out of all the players we've have passed through our revolving door in recent years, Kyel Reid is probably the one who has frustrated me the most.
The fella should have walked the player of the year vote this season, in fact he should have been in the running for the Division's player of the year. As it stands, he won't even get a look in in our top five, which is unbelievable when you consider how mediocre some of the others are.
The opening game against Bournemouth showed exactly what Reid can do on form. We've probably seen only the merest snatches of it since.
People say don't read their stuff, but i'm sick to death of underperforming players airing their dirty laundry in public. Whilst his team mates are playing as well is particularly low in my eyes. You either have it out with the manager, or you say nothing.
This twittering crap has got to stop, the sooner the players return to messaging private groups like they used to, the better for everyone.
Think CP would find it very hard to enforce a tweet banning order.
But the club should make these idiots understand the difference between a text message (private and read by the recipient only) and a tweet which is broadcast to the entire world. Clearly some of them have not grasped this simple difference.
I doubt many follow the rubbish people like Reid scribble on twitter. But it appeared here on CL in the match thread two-thirds of the way through the second-half and anybody who cannot appreciate the inappropriateness of such a comment at that moment is wearing blinkers.

He did have a very good game on the opening day but it was against Lee Bradbury, a 35 year old striker converted to a right back. Most of us could probably do him for pace.

Speak for yourself,my speed is deceptive,I'm slower than I look (& I look really slow)
What I find oddly inconsistent is that football clubs send their players on media training courses, the main purpose of which is to coach them not to say anything interesting, let alone remotely controversial, in post-match interviews.
And yet it seems they do nothing about players planting disruptive, undermining and and demoralising comments all over the equally public medium of Twitter...and made several times worse in this particular instance by the comment actually being disseminated during the game.
Would he have gone on Radio London and said that during live commentary? Of course not. Well there's no difference in him tweeting the comment during the match, in my eyes. He might just as well have gone on the radio and slagged off his club and his team-mates on air.

Completely agree, but if he was going on the radio or TV one of the press/communications team would probably be hanging around and he would probably be more guarded. With Twitter and the internet it's a bit too easy to just say something unfortunate without thinking and also it's easy for players to forget what sensitive flowers some fans can be.

One: I think you over estimate how much media training a third division club gives its players.
and Two: Most media interviews are eithe pre-planned away from matches or post match with a player who has done well in the game. Why would the press want to inteview a third division player who is not playing? Therefore there is no way of knowing what he would or wouldn't have said on air / in a press interview.

Well he needs shutting up too then.

"Did you travel today ?"
"Are you fit ? Please Tweet me back ?"

Yep, you're right Kyel, i bet the opposition are well relieved
I feel this point may have been overlooked.

I think we are fairly safe in assuming he would not have said ''I've had enough of this, what the ****'s going on'' !!!!
Wont be here next year.
We wont see him in a red shirt again, can't say I'm bothered.
