Kyel Reid - what the **** do you think you are doing ?

This came up in the match thread, but deserves picking out from there.

With about ten mins of the game to go, Kyel Reid tonight tweeted:

'' I've had enough of this what the f***s going on?...''

Now the match thread itself was probably full of Charlton Lifers saying similar things. But - assuming he was talking about our game and not the Spurs match or someone shooting his cat - for a so-called professional footballer to post that while his mates and colleagues are out on the pitch trying to do a job ... well, words fails me.

He seems to be determined to turn himself into the new Marcus Bent. Personally, I'd be very happy not to see him in a Charlton shirt again. And I suspect a few of his team-mates might take a similar view.

I gotta be honest, he hasn't impressed me at all, on or off the pitch, since the summer
  • His mum burnt the dinner again.

    It's just not on.
  • Surely he's on about the spurs game, Jackson was making similar noises and I was wondering why he wasn't at the match supporting

Bit of a wierd reaction to the spurs game ? Surely that reaction and those words sound more like someone frustrated with Charlton ?
  • It's probably nothing to do with Charlton. He probably couldn't care less to be honest.

    Unless he's a spurs fan?
  • Got it spot on if it's about Charlton

But his words were "I've had enough" - sounds like frustration and "what the f***s going on?..." when it was quite obvious what was going on in the Spurs game (i.e. they'd shot themselves in the foot early on and were now facing a very difficult task). If you were a Spurs fan and were referring to that game I don't think you would have used those words. Pure speculation of course.
  • considering he posted this: "contracts up end of season pal, not happy at all. Tell about it every team must be happy to see my name not in starting 11"

last week, it aint going to be about the spurs game is it
  • Unprofessional.

If only the current management could get the form of a year ago out of him, that performance at Southend was top level Championship class.

Will no doubt be ditched at the end of the season and do an Ambrose and look like a world beater at this level.

Definitely a 'needing an arm round the shoulder' player.

  • Just another brainless dimwit on a fair amount of money for doing fack all. Wouldn't lose too much sleep if he was offloaded in the summer.
  • Pretty sure he #'d it cafc. Not likely to be about Spurs if he did.
  • To be honest he was our best player before he twisted his ankle and Jackson moved up and scored the goals.

But he must not be doing enough in training if he still isn't getting a look in. He couldn't make the Sheff Utd team which was doing average in CCC and now he can't make a Charlton team which has been awful and Jackson has been out.
  • Twat get rid of him, done nothing this season bad attitude poor mans Thomas!!
  • Just another gifted athlete stealing a living.

Can't understand the attitude of these players.....Although if clubs like us continue to offer up large sums of money to persistant underachievers/never likely to be's, like Reid, more fool them.

Where do you get that from?

    Not twitter I assume.

Very poor man management by Parkinson IMO. Why isn't our best player even on the bench FFS. A good manager would get the best out of him.

Terrible attitude, get rid of him Powell, not what we need.

Seriously though I wonder what's going on. I said before he was overrated last year, apparently too good for this league. Now some don't rate him at all. Should be able to get more out of him than we have this season, but he also needs to fight for his place like every other player. Not really sure he's done that, when he has played in the last few months he's not impressed (though to be fair, I think sometimes he's come on as a sub and not had a chance to get on the ball).
  • When Airman Brown spoke about players who were delusional about their own ability, I immediately thought of Reid.
At his best he looks threatening, but he always looked to me like a head-down bull in a china shop, devoid of a football brain, never picking the right option.
Wouldn't give a hoot if he was dumped
  • Reid is a player who hasn't performed consistently enough for us, many will say he has a bad attitude and we're well rid of him. Then next season when he performs for a team at a higher level than us, we'll once again be questioning why players can never do it at Charlton. Just like Thomas, Bothroyd, Ambrose...........
  • A Kyel Reid Tweet from last week: "contracts up end of season pal, not happy at all. Tell about it every team must be happy to see my name not in starting 11"

    @KReidy11 if anyones interested

You are not in the team because you are not good enough and you've done nothing all season!

  • Hmmm....interesting.

    But not surprising.
  • charltonised
  • When will these pig ignorant footballers get it through into their thick skulls that this sort of shit just should not be put on a public forum. Absolute f**king idiot.
  • Think you kinda answered that with them being pig ignorant and having thick skulls - no time soon.

I'd guess he's angry at the management because he also said last weekmthat the supporters deserve more than what Charlton are producing not the pitch. remember that it was rumoured that he'd had offers from the champ and dropped to work for parky so you can see why he expected to play.
  • he should be typing "i'm well pleased not being in this team and fully accept it cos they're doing so well without me"
  • not the point, he shouldn't be typing anything of that nature
  • [cite]Posted By: oohaahmortimer[/cite]he should be typing "i'm well pleased not being in this team and fully accept it cos they're doing so well without me"

No, the fella shouldn't be typing anything about it. He can think what he wants, but he's paid - handsomely - to play football and he should just concentrate on that.

    Beat me to it!

But these fellas think they're that important that we all need to know. They're 3rd division footballers ffs.
  • His comment last week was in reply to @eyt123 who by all accounts is giving a few of our players a hard time on there
