  • If we win tonight we can revisit but at this moment it feels that any chance will be rubbed out against the Saints. Think 72 points will probably be enough though but if we lose the best we can get is 71!!!

Well that result has pissed on the fire of the optimists amongst us.

Tonight means we cannot mathematically make the top two.

You are assuming all the teams ahead of us stay out of administration
  • yes but no but yes but-------------------if they all get 10 points taken off--------------and we winn all our games 5 v nil we might still make the play offs .

or we may have actually given up trying to do anything in February .
  • Bizarrely - still a possibility. Thats why we need to put out our best team out on Saturday and try to beat Huddersfield - all the time we are mathematically "in with a shout" we've got to keep on trying. I know its all rose-tinted glasses and all that - but all the time we have a mathematical chance we have to keep pushing...it also will help the confidence and set a good start point for next season (whatever happens).
  • The annoying thing is, when this thread started a few weeks ago people were saying no then, when we are still only 10 points off a playoff place. Now I know, it is far from being realistic but if we had converted our chances at Rochdale we would still be sitting pretty. However, what comes with Huddersfield on Saturday is a huge huge task in winning!

It certainly helped last season, and the season before, and Oh wait....
  • Still possible but its a very hard task now. We would have to win our remaining 5 and hope that Rochdale, Bournemouth, Orient, Exeter, colchester and brentford have a bad run. The positive side is that if we somehow win our next 5 I think it will be just between us bournemouth and rochdale.
  • Not a chance
