    Definite:

Semedo - Don't care about recent form, he's our best player still
Racon - He is actually good at football
Jackson - To play left midfield only
    BWP - Obvious
    Jenkinson
    Solly
    Wagstaff
Anyinsah - Injuries are a bit of a worry I suppose but he's more than capable.

    Probably

Llera - Doesn't have to be a starter but he's fairly cheap and a committed League One level centre half who is a goal threat, no reason to not have him in the squad
Benson - Looks capable of scoring at this level with better service
  • worner
    jenkinson
    jackson
    bwp
  • Elliot as back up
    Jackson
    Solly
    Jenkinson

The rest can go to hell
  • To keep for 1st 11: Jenkinson, Jackson, BWP (possibly Semedo)
To keep for squad players: Dailly, Llera, Solly, Waggy, Reid, (possibly Benson)
To go: Elliot, Worner, Francis, Doherty, McCormack, Racon, Anyinsah(always injured), Stav, Tuna, Fortune,
  • Elliott
    Francis
    Solly
    Jenkinson
    Jackson
Doherty (need at least one old head)
    Racon
    Semedo
    BWP
    Anyinsah
    Wagstaff

And thats the lot, which is why Powell had a massive job this summer.
  • [cite]Posted By: Mortimerwasgod[/cite]Doherty (need at least one old head)

  • Based on a combination of ability, contract situation, likelihood to stay, injury concerns, age etc.

    DEFINITELY KEEP (or try to)

    BWP
    Jackson
    Semedo
    Llera
Solly & Jenkinson (if it is worth keeping both, it may be decided that it isn't)
Wagstaff (for the squad unless he improves his consistency tenfold)
The promising kids, e.g. Harriott, Cousins

    MAYBE

    Elliot
    Worner
    Reid

    NOT BOTHERED (GOODBYE)

    Everyone else
  • If we want to build a team capable of promotion ...............

    Jackson
    BWP

Plus the following squad players ...........
    Solly
    Jenkinson
    Wagstaff
    Llera
  • edited March 2011
    I would keep:

    Jenkinson
    BWP
    Semedo
    Jackson

    Squad players:
    Solly
poss Llera as a cheap No4 defender
    Poss Youga subject to fitness
    Doherty (No 3 CB though)
    Elliott (No2 though)

All the others can go....so 4 frst teamers....there is a massive summer ahead of us. Just pray we are still in League1 next season as i am starting to get nervous.
  • Semedo
    Jackson
    BWP
    Solly
    Jenkinson
Wagstaff, but he would need to start scoring goals again to justify it.

Would like to keep Anyinsah if he could stay fit, and Racon if he could find some consistency - but in both cases thats looking unlikely.

    Keep:
Worner, Jenkinson, Solly, Llera, Mambo, Cousins, Youga, Bessone, Waggy, Semedo, Racon, Jackson, Stavrinou, Harriott (Very young but has been included in a matchday squad several times), Reid (When confident he is capable of being brilliant), Anyinsah (Must keep him fit, we're better with Joe), BWP, Benson

    To go:
Elliott (I would keep him if we had a better defence next season), Francis, Dailly (His last season for me), Doherty (Could keep but will need a pacey player next to him), Fortune, McCormack, Tuna, Perkins

    - Must get in a couple of younger, quicker centre backs. A right winger, someone like Danny Green. Another one or two strikers and a couple of loans from the Premier League to give us a boost and quality. I wouldn't mind having Eccleston back here again last season as well as Zak Ansah from Arsenal.

    - Tuna and Perkins are just not good enough for us, I have a friend who I have known most of my life and he is much better than Tuna. My friend used to play for Gillingham reserves and now plays for Bromley.

    - The players I have selected to keep for next season, many of them are young and are very good prospects for the future. We need experience along with them and for the strikers we need players from midfield who is going to give them service, this is why I mentioned Danny Green who has scored and assisted loads of goals this year in a competitive but struggling Dagenham & Redbridge side.
  • Jenkinson
    Solly
    BWP
    Llera(squad player)

The rest, apart from the youth players, goodbye and goodluck
  • In order, starting with the must-keeps:

    BWP
    Jackson
    Jenkinson
Youga (if he regains full fitness)
Bessone (granted his is a loanee)
    Semedo
    Elliot
    Solly
    Wagstaff
    Racon
    Llera
    Worner
    Reid

p.s. don't know re Stavrinou and obviously not including the likes of Cousins.
p.p.s. I see the above as forming maybe 4 of next years starting XI
  • December_The_5TH 2
My reason for keeping Reid is simply that we know what he is capable of when he is confident, this is clearly something he is lacking at the moment.
  • Part of the answer is how much money is available - but assuming there is some but not a lot

    Keep
Elliot (still young and continuing to improve)
    Jenkinson
    Solly
    Dailly
Semedo (although he is frustraing me like hell!)
    Jackson
    Wagstaff
    BWP
    Benson
    Asinwa

plus of course Cosins, Mambo, prob Stav but not Tuna

Some of these will be suad players rather than regulars tho
  • If we release Waggy in the summer he will not get another club in the top 3 divisions IMO. I love the blokes enthusiam and effort and wish our other players had that as we would be a lot higher and going a lot better but ultimately he is just not good enough. Hope he proves me wrong, as if anyone deserves it out of our bunch it is him but I just don't see it.

  • Out -
    BWP

Anyone really think his heart is in it?
  • Keep:
    BWP
    Jackson
    Jenks
    Solly
    Wagstaff
Racon (don't know why everyone hates him seems to be the only person who tries to attack)
    Llera
    Semedo

    The rest can go
  • Keep

    Elliot
    Worner
    Daily
    Solly
    Jenkinson
    LLera
    Waggy
    Semedo
    Racon
    BWP
    Anyinsah
    Jackson
Bessone (if loan can be made pemenant)
    Fry (ditto)
  • [cite]Posted By: addickted_to_cafc[/cite]Jenkinson
    Solly
    BWP
    Llera(squad player)

The rest, apart from the youth players, goodbye and goodluck

I would agree with that except i would keep Worner,Jackso & Youga also.
  • Keep As First Team: Youga(fitness dependant), Wagstaff, Racon, Jackson, Wright-Phillips, Anyinsah(fitness dependant)
Keep As Squad Players/Subs: Worner, Jenkinson, Solly, Llera, Semedo, Reid, Benson
OUT: Elliott, Francis, Dailly, Doherty, McCormack, Fortune.
Youngsters To Keep: Cousins, Mambo, Tuna, Harriott

AIM FOR A FIRST TEAM LIKE:
    Goalkeeper
    RB CB CB Jackson/Youga
    RM/Wagstaff Racon CM LM
    BWP Anyinsah
  • Keep:
Elliot, Worner, Solly, Bessone, Jenkinson, Reid, Wagstaff, Jackson, Semedo, Racon, Anyinsah, Racon, BWP, Benson.

Dailly I'd like to keep, perhaps more as a reserve CB and senior pro-type. i presume he's going to or is taking his coaching badges and keeping him on could have some long term benefits.

So we'd need a left-back, Bessone would be first choice, but seems to be injury prone, but Jenkinson could play there. I'd be inclined to see if Solly or Jenkinson could nail down the RB spot, then we need at least two if not three CBs. Assuming JJ/Reid play on the left and Waggy on the right then we'd need a central midfielder and a striker to take his turn alongside Benson, Anyinsah and BWP.
  • KEEP: Elliott, Worner, Bessone, Jenks, Solly, Llera, Semedo, Racon, Jackson, Waggy, Youga, BWP, Anyinsah.
  • [cite]Posted By: BlackForestReds[/cite]Keep:
Elliot, Worner, Solly, Bessone, Jenkinson, Reid, Wagstaff, Jackson, Semedo, Racon, Anyinsah, Racon, BWP, Benson.

Racon... so good you'd keep him twice?

Wouldn't even consider keeping him once!
  • Keep:

For starting 11: Jackson, BWP, Semedo, Wagstaff, Anyinsah (injury dependant), Jenkinson

For back up: Racon, Reid, Benson, Daily (If he is still fit), Llera

    The rest can get lost
  • edited March 2011
I think you need to exclude the youngsters who havent established themselves in the team from this list - those are decisions for better informed.

As for the current first teamers there a 4 categories IMO. 1) keep potential first choice 2) Keep but possibly as back up 3) Not sure- some thinking to do 4) Goodbye

For me Cat 1 are: Elliot, Jenkinson, Semedo,JJ, Anyinsah (on ability - injuries a different matter), BWP Cat 2 are: Francis, Doc, Llera, Waggy, Reid, Benson, Worner, Cat 3 is Racon (possibly Anyinsah due to injuries) and the rest are cat 4 for various reasons. Of course players in Cat 2 and 3 could be cat 1 if the right players are playing with them but would seem there might be a lot of work to do.
