  • [cite]Posted By: mparsons1[/cite]sorry if any1 gets excited about him but I have a mate who is a season ticket at west ham and i go on the odd weekend he has a spare and Nouble is rubbish, I cant believe we have signed him DO NOT get your hopes up about him couldnt hit a barn door, is completly lightweight and is lacking confidence, cannot see this one working at all, things just go from bad to worse

    That was Carlton Cole!

    I've got a flat tyre?
  • If we lose today we're in the mire.
  • Westham are fooked mate I agree 8-)
  • Who gives a shit? Loan signings to achieve what? Higher mid table instead of lower mid table? They'll be gone in the summer and they aren't gonna get us into the playoffs now so why bother?
  • Because we are short on numbers, playing shite and they have to try something to stop the fans moaning about absolutley everything. If we bring players in we moan, if we don't bring players in we moan. The club is in a no win situation at the moment. Nothing they do is gonna be good enough for some fans.

Parrett and Nouble have both played out on loan, ok not a lot but these guys have to start somewhere. I'd rather have some fit young players hungry to try than some over paid has beens who can't get into their own team or are unfit.
  • Play offs aren't impossible yet. Also, this gives us a chance to develop a formation and way of playing that will help us target replacements in the summer. If the loanees like it here there is might well be a chance of them coming back next season...and most importantly, I would quite like to see us win another game before the season ends!

You're lucky to have seen him at Upton Park, he's only made 10 appearances in 2 seasons!

Is that all? thought I've seen him play more than that?

Sure you're not thinking of Mark Noble ?

  • Big powerful player something we need. Played for Chelsea so is automatically quality at this level.

Or raw young non scoring striker who has done little on loan elsewhere, never going to make it at West Ham.

We obviously can't sign anyone right now but I hope this isn't a sign of our plan for signings in the summer.

I have no problem with one or two Prem loans next season, but the squad mainly needs to be made up of players that we know are proven and will do a good job.

We must not make the same mistake Pardew made in 07/08, where he tried to build an exciting young team to try and outplay everyone in the league. We actually needed a few more solid reliable Champ players like Iwelumo over "exciting" young players. Parky tried to do the same this season, it's solid players like Jackson and Dailly that have been most important over the exciting signings like Martin and Reid.

Not trying to sound like I'm moaning about something that hasn't happened yet, just hoping we get the balance right in the summer.

    Sums it up for me.

Lacking in confidence? Should fit in nicely.

  • mostly I read what scoham writes and agree...but recent comments don't make sense. We've tried the oh lets not do it Pardew's way and guess what........we sacked our manager and are stuck in league one. The team with the best 11, the best team will get out of this league. Buying a load of 'hard workers' 'shirt lovers' does not equal success, it does not even mean a united club. What will is a team that gets out of this league, which is competitive in the championship and with aspirations of a return to the Premier League. I say lets welcome these guys to the club, lets embrace their freshness, their skill, their potential and their disassociation with everything charlton for the last few years.

  • Id rather be getting loan players from Spurs and West Ham, than Reading and Sheff Utd.
  • The reason he hasn't scored many is he's always played on the wing.
  • didnt sound great this afternoon according to the commentary
  • Didnt look to great either. Same amount of enthusiasm as Carlton Cole
  • Never won anything in the air but showed a few decent touches. Like both our strikers, it's hard to judge as they have to create their own chances as the 4 in midfield have no creativity at all.
  • Wright-Phillips won more headers.

    Looked ungainly.

Early days but my hopes are less than high.
  • Said this on the ratings thread, he is very raw but showed some good attributes. Put himself about, few decent touches and couple of bits of skill. No means the finished article but he did ok imho and witout Benson, Anyinsah and obviously Abbott we need someone like him upfront.
  • Better player than abbott, and benson ....
  • hate to say i told you so. why did BWP win more headers and hes a foot smaller, tbh the whole lot of them werent up to much anyway
  • edited March 2011
BWP won more headers because he was being marked by a different defender, whenever BWP went up against Legge, Legge won the ball so completely unfair to compare. I thought Legga was excellent. As for Nouble, he wasn't great but he offered something different, had quite quick legs for a big lad and was a little unlucky at times. Won't score many but is better than playing 2 small blokes upfront. Trouble is he needs to fill out to reach his potential and that won't happen in the next month!
