Seen him more than half a dozen times I would say. He's got a good engine, very strong and can pass the ball very well. I've seen him play as a holding midfielder in a midfield 2/3 and looked good. I've also seen him in the box-to-box role, which suited him really well. Also seen him play on the right side of a midfield 3 and looked comfortable too. If there's anyone to liken him to, probably Jamie O'Hara would be nearest.
Of all the lads in the development squad, he looks the most likely to make it, along with Caulker and Kane.
Hopefully, he'll make an impact for you. (edit... from memory, I cant remember him going out on loan before, so the one thing he lacks is experience. No doubt Clive Allen is thinking lets chuck him in the pool, lets see if he sinks or swims! hopefully he'll be a swimmer! :-)

Obviously not expecting him to be as good straight away, but that is a very encouraging comparison. Remember O'Hara going to Millwall on loan and doing well there, hopefully this chap can be good for us.
[cite]Posted By: LargeAddick[/cite]as a 'youth' loan does that mean he doesn't count as a normal loan ?
think it just means he can go back and play for Spurs reserves every now and then. Eccleston and Fry are too. Each still counts as 1 of the 5 you're allowed in a matchday squad.
I remembered him playing for the 1st team a couple of years ago, and I was trying to remember who it was against but couldnt, until I checked the wiki up top. He made his debut for Spurs in the UEFA cup against Shaktar Donesk, when Harry played the kids to rest the key players for the Prem Games when we were near the bottom of the league. He didnt look out of place too. Put in a very good shift from what I can remember. Played the holding role in midfield that night.
No one seems to be concerned that by bringing in loanees left right and centre, we are bypassing our own young pro's. Ecclestone and Parrett are young and inexperienced also. Stavs has never really been given a chance and I would imagine that he will be pissed at this. Short term loans are never really the answer and the more that are brought in just unsettles the current squad. The loanees or their big wages (not paid by us) won't be here next season. Loanees have absolutely no loyalty to the club and probably could not care less of any result as long as they are playing.
Now obviously just one quote from over a year ago, but he sounds like the type of midfielder you've wanted...
A driving attacking midfielder with pace and determination in the mould of Steven Gerrard, his signing delighted many at the club. The youngster’s already displayed good passing, dribbling and tackling abilities. Then-Spurs sporting director Damien Comolli said of him
“Dean is exactly the kind of player we want to attract to our Club, a player who will be part of the next generation to come through to the first team. He is an extremely talented young player who has that rare combination of pace, aggression and creativity.”
Looked him up and it seems like there was a 'Defoe style' controversy about his move away from QPR
Dean Parrett's Sale -QPR Official Site - QPR's teenage starlet Dean Parrett has joined Tottenham Hotspur.Dean, 15, will move into the Tottenham Academy on a student registration before joining full-time as a scholar in July 2008. Parrett helped England Under-16s retain the Victory Shield against Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland in October last year. A talented midfielder with bags of natural ability, Parrett made five starts and four sub appearances for the Under-18's this season, scoring one goal. Tottenham's Sporting Director Damien Comolli said: "Dean is exactly the kind of player we want to attract to our Club, a player who will be part of the next generation to come through to the first team. "He is an extremely talented young player who has that rare combination of pace, aggression and creativity." Academy Manager John McDermott added: "Dean has played wide right, wide left and in central midfield and as a Year 10 or Under-15 player, has done extremely well up against older boys. "He's very level-headed, has potential, a desire to succeed and that's fantastic raw material to work with. Dean comes into a rich pool of talent able to stretch him, and he will stretch them. We've four internationals in our Under-16 age group and he makes it five." The deal has been extremely helpful for the club and QPR will benefit from a future move. The club wishes Dean all the best for the future and thank him for all of his hard work during his time at QPR

Independent/Sam Wallace - Tottenham beat Chelsea to signing young talent Parrett Tottenham were last night celebrating victory in the battle to sign one of the most highly rated young players in English football after they beat Chelsea to the signature of Dean Parrett. The 15-year-old midfielder, who has already represented England at Under-16 level, was signed from Queen's Park Rangers in a deal that could be worth more than £1m according to how he progresses at his new club. The player has been targeted by a host of Premiership clubs and has long interested Chelsea. A Londoner, Parrett is an attacking midfielder in the mould of Steven Gerrard and has already played for QPR's Under-18s side. A good sprinter in schoolboy athletics, he still attends the Quintin Kynaston school in north-west London. He will become a full-time trainee at Tottenham only in the summer of 2008. Competition for the top schoolboy footballers, especially English players, is fierce. Maybe, but i've assumed that anybody we have coming through aren't good enough (yet) otherwise they'd be in. Lets face it - no loans and we will not go up - a couple of good loans, we still might. no brainer for me now in our position.
Only worth playing the youngsters if they are good enough - Stavs and other such as Tuna and Mambo have been loaned out to non-league clubs where in some cases they can't even get a regular start which suggests to me that they are not good enough for Div 3 football.
Jenkinson, Wagstaff and Elliott show that we are still prepared to play the younsgters IF they are good enough. Elliott was player of the season in Accrington Stanley's Blue Sq prem promotion year a few years back - Tuna can't even get a start at Aveley
Wish him well, sounds like the type of player we need in midfield. If we could add a decent hold up forward such as Paul Hayes we could have a good end to the season.
Harsh to bracket all loan players toghether. Some are good, some aren't.
maybe the plan is, like with Bessone, to have him here next season as well.

absolutely Scoham - definitely a step in the right direction - lets hope he does well, Spurs win the Champions league and don't want him any more as they go for the big names and and we sign him up. just another one now and we may still have a chance - what is the significance of 'a youth loan'?
Yes, just because they come from our youth set up and the current shirt incumbant may not be doing his job that well- it amazes me how people who will not have seen them play recently just assume they are the answer. As for this new loanee - the words certainly look good - but it's how he plays that will be important. Let's not build our expectations too high - it would be nice to be pleasantly suprised for a change rather than disapointed.
I was rather hoping our last two loans would go straight into the starting eleven, so we seem to have wasted the opportunity to give the squad a boost.

Why do you think Parrett won't be going straight into starting eleven? Sounds like he could replace anyone of our current midfield

why? I'm assuming he will go straight into the first 11 - i'd introduce him in the dressing room and tell him that other than Jenkinson's peg he can sit wherever he likes but preferably it's in one of the central midfield spots.

Interesting link that one. Says Parrett never got on against Shakhtar. However, he started in Russia and weas subbed for Bostock in injury time.

In a 3-man central midfield he might even start
Get him and Racon in the centre and get at Brentford from the first minute.
Don't see why he can't play either alongside Semedo in middle or in one of teh 2 wide positions in a 4 man midfield
