  • Elliott- 5 can't be blamed for distribution as had no one to aim at, half the time was waiting for Francis to cross the half way line. However, the third goal was embarassing, Worner not the answer but Robbie needs some serious competition.
Francis- 6 did not hide, tried his best but was not good at tims.
Dailly- 5 was shaky, slow to react and generally quite poor.
Doherty- 4 liability, injury could be a blessing as now really need a new CB. Thought he was slow to react for their first.
    Jenkinson- 7 played well
Reid - 4 not good enough to wear orange boots, where is the Reid from last season? another poor show
    Semedo- 5 not good
Racon- 4 awful, spent more time moaning than doing anything positive. Need a new CM urgently. Was a shocking performance all round.
Wagstaff- 5 poor again, only good thing is his work rate but tbh that is not enough.
Eccleston- 5 won't make it any higher up with performances like that.
Wright Phillips- 6 well taken goal, first touch questionable and barely won any headers all night.

Fortune- 3 time to go, not good enough and almost embarassing at times.
    n/a Benson- 6 tried
  • Elliott - 3 - hmmmmmmmmmm kicking shite (but in fairness no1 moved for him or wanted the ball), was at fault for 2 goals, but did make 3 excellent saves
Francis - 5.5 - Seriously low on confidense but had no hel from waggy/eccelson or whoever was meant to be infront of him
    Dailly - 4 - Didnt looked bothered
Doherty - 5 - keeps humping it or heading straight to anyone bar a red shirt
Jenkinson - 7 - Ray of shinning light out of position got passed several hospital balls, looked assured and well good/acceptable
Reid - 2 - Pathetic, didnt get the ball in 1st, when did in 2nd realised why none passed to him
Semedo - 3 - Worst i've seen him for us, would be happy to see him dropped for jacko/McOxo
Racon - 1 - Would be happy to never to see him again, offers nothing, less than nothing
Wagstaff - 5 - Tried and tirelessly chases, need him on the right with francis though
Eccleston - 5.5 - see above except needs to be uptop and learn how to look and pass rather than running into dead ends
Wright Phillips - 6 - Acceptable, looked a great finish and almost got another

Fortune - 2 - Sorry to see him on the field, not fit enough to be on bench, should have brough on solly and moved jenko to CB

  • I can't understand why so many say that Francis was good going forward last night - if he can't cross the ball to a Charlton player then what is the point? His corners and free kicks were either overhit or didn't get bast the first defender and his crosses usually go straight to the keeper - no he wasn't the worst player on the pitch but he largely ineffective as an attacking force. I'd put both Jenkinson and Solly in ahead of him.
  • Elliott 4 - CP needs to decide if Worner is any better, Slater/Jiminez need to find someone better.
Francis 5 - like some of what he does, hate some of what he does - frustrating !
Dailly 5 - Professional but little left in the tank.
Doherty 6 - started better last night until he tweeked his hamstring.
Jenkinson 6 - doing a job but doesn't look natural there.
Reid 4.5 - moments and flashes that he can do it, so so infrequent though and wasting an obvious talent.
Semedo 4 - nothing new, gives his all but so unnatural in central midfield within a 4-4-2 - CP needs to utilise his talent in a more appropriate area. Lost the battle last night.
Racon 4 - flatters to deceive, engine not good enough for the modern game and gets left deep far too often along with his central partner.
Wagstaff 6 - put in a shift and looked a threat first half.
Eccleston 4 - would have been lower apart from his contribution to the goal. Looks like he wants to try a trick far too often but needs to embrace the basics first.
Wright Phillips 6 - took his goal well, showed well and was always looking to make himself available. shame his team mates frustrated him so much.

Fortune 4 - looks and plays like the hunger has gone, far too placid, no bite, no fight, no right to the shirt.

  • Elliott 5 Oh dear. Worrying time for him (but reckon he'll come through ok). Might need a rest on Saturday if confidence is as low as it appeared.
    Francis 5.5
    Dailly 6
    Doherty 5.5
Jenkinson 7 The obvious positive on a dreadful night. On his wrong side, just kept trying to make a fist of it when others disappeared.
    Reid 4
    Semedo 6
Racon 5 Promises so much but decision-making is just so poor.
Wagstaff 5.5 Full of effort as usual but delivered little this time
    Eccleston 5 Surprisingly quiet
Wright Phillips 6 So nice to have someone who can conjure a shooting opp from pretty much any ball he's given (and there weren't many).

Thought Benson did well when he came on and might give us bette balance with Waggy, Reid, & Ecclestone being more similar to each other, Joe out, & Abbott gone.
  • Elliott - 6 - escapes a 5 due to distribution, which I thought was excellent and a nice change from standard hoofing it as far as poss. Can't remember 2nd goal but definitely at fault for third and didn't inspire confidence throughout.

Francis - 5.5 - gets in good positions but too many missplaced passes and overhit crosses.

Dailly - 6 - the only one of our defenders who inspires any confidence, needs a faster partner alongside him.

Doherty - 6 - don't remember him doing too much wrong before he went off.

Jenkinson - 6 - plenty of potential, bit too early for him though. I'd rather see Fry there and I suspect Reid/Jackson would as well.

Reid - 6 - the odd flash, not the same player as last season though.

    Semedo - 7 - standard performance.

Racon - 7 - thought he did ok. Much happier with him there than McOxo.

    Wagstaff - 6 - 10 for effort, 5 for end product.

Eccleston - 5.5 - did well setting up goal, not much else though.

Wright Phillips - 5.5 - as with Eccleston, good goal, little else. Mind you, if he scores every game and does little else he'll prove to be a great signing.

Fortune - 3 - just awful. What's happened to him?! Was so pleased to see him come back but bears no resemblance to the player he was before he left.

Benson - 5 - too late to have any impact

  • Elliott - 4 - Has zero confidence and messed up again. To be fair though, look at the two centre backs in front of him!
Francis - 4 - Can't defend and can't cross. Need Solly to get fit so he has some compitition.
Dailly - 5 - Average at best. Unfortunatly for Dailly his centre back partners are pants!
Doherty - 2 - This man is finished. My gran has more pace than this bloke. Can't run for shit. I found it quite funny watching him chase the centre foward when he got his injury.
Jenkinson - 7 - Played well again. Good runs foward and looks dangerous.
Reid - 5 - I like Reid but his runs got blocked and if he got past the full back the delivery was poor. But start Reid on saturday, he'll come good.
Semedo - 4 - Probly the worst game I have seen Semedo Play. Needs to keeps his hands down and stop pushing people over!
Racon - 3 - A talented player but he lost the ball so many times I wanted to scream. Also very lazy when he lost the ball.
Wagstaff - 3 - Was he wearing football boots last night because all he did was fall over. Also he stayed on the ground for ages when there was nothing wrong with him. Good player but SCP, give him a kick up the arse!
Eccleston - 5 - Run alot but with no end product.
Wright Phillips - 6 - Fair play for the goal but seriously lazy. If he hadn't scored I would have gave him a 3

Fortune - 2 - Sorry mate but your done!

  • Elliott 4 Not easy but thought he could have got to first, 4rd drfinitely his fault.
Francis 6 Some good balls, some bad but involved and defended well
Dailly 4 Poorest I've ssen him play - hardly won any headers, distribution terrible- looked very uncomfortable.
Doherty 6 Won all his headers, solid and some good tackling, then got injured.
Jenkinson 5 Will be a very good player - should have done better with cahnce when we were 1 nil up.
Reid 6 Thought he was quite lively
Semedo 6.5 MOM Won tackles, some good passing - not his best but he is always solid
Racon 5 started well but didn't take long to fade
Wagstaff 5 Worked hard but runs into people rather than beating them -gets more effective as defenders tire
    Eccleston 4 Was he playing?
Wright Phillips 6 Well taken goal -looked ok

Fortune 4 Wasn't fit - sad to see what a shadow he is of his former self- Llera would have been a much better bet
    n/a Benson

Crowd - 3 Pissed me off big time - it's one thing being understandably frustrated by another poor performance but they don't help when they pressure the team to play unconsidered rushed balls forward. Elliot had no options and they were booing him to play it quickly, any sidewards ball got same response - good job they donn't support Barcelona!

God, did we miss Anyinsah! Carlisle came to beaten and when teams are there for the taking, we do their work for them to get them back into the game far too often- a real lack of professionalism. We need reinforcements now!

    We missed Anyinsah
  • Elliott-6- People were getting on his back not passing out early but he had no-one to pass to, could have gone in at h/t 2-1 down if he didn't make the save over the bar, 3rd goal thought he did well to even save it, harsh to blame him for it falling into their players feet.
    Francis-5
    Dailly-5
    Doherty-5
    Jenkinson-6
    Reid-5
    Semedo-5- Completley over-run
    Racon-5 Completley over-run
    Wagstaff-5
    Eccleston-5
    Wright Phillips-6

    Fortune-5

All in all we didn't actually make their keeper make a save apart from picking the ball out the net, and it was one of the worst performacnes I've since us make.
  • Elliott - 5 Let down by the defenders in front of him, pulled off some good saves though.
Francis - 4 Couldn't cross for toffee. His range of crosses stretched from not getting the ball over a blade of grass or crossed it straight out for a throw in. Tuppence.
Dailly - 6 Along with Jenkinson was the only player who showed any fight.
Doherty - 5 Was OK till he got injured
Jenkinson - 7 Made some decent runs into their half and was our best player by a mile.
Reid - 4 Brainless. Another headless chicken running around. One moment for me in the second half especially stands out when he should have crossed and was too slow. Pony.
Semedo - 3 Can't shoot, can't pass straight and too slow. Losing the faith fast.
Racon - 3 Absolute waste of space. Makes Macca look like Roy effing Keane.
Waggy - 4 First 10 minutes looked Ok then disappeared. Too much of that feigning injury cobblers = not very good.
Eccleston - 6 Set up the goal but after that ran around like a headless chicken and lacked a decent touch when running with the ball too many times and i might be wrong but didn't he give the ball away for their equaliser?
Wright Phillips - 6 Took his goal well and should have had a second but severely lacked any service and had to go deeper to get scraps. Typical that we now have a decent striker and we have a team that can't provide anything for him.

Fortune - 0 Should seriously think about knocking it on the head because it was painful just to watch him. It is up there as one of the worst performances from a Charlton player I have ever witnessed at the Valley in 30 years.
  • Elliott 5 - Some good saves and catches but lots of question marks. Shame...until Exeter had been on really good form. Now he's a problem.
Francis - 6 Defended fine. Attacked well until the final ball which was poor. Liked the way he joined up from keeper's kicks to try and give us some height...but he is a full back!
Dailly - 5.5 Not helped by Doc going off and looked a bit ragged by the end. All seems to be catching up with him a bit now.
Doherty - 7 Was fine. Got in first and looked good.
Jenkinson - 6 Good delivery of balls in (perhaps he should take the corners) but defensively struggled at times. He's young, he's promising and it won't do him any harm to play.
Reid - 6 Some good bits and plenty of effort especially in the first half when he won the ball back a couple of times. He's limited to his left foot but that's why he's in Div 3.
Semedo - 6 First half played some good attacking passes but looked isolated at times 2nd half. Plenty of effort as ever.
Racon - 5 Decent first half but a bit headless chicken second half.
Wagstaff - 5 The odd good bit but looked pretty weak as the game wore on. A bit of an on-field whinger. Needs to man-up a tad.
Eccleston - 5 Nice stuff for the goal but a non-event thereafter.
Wright Phillips 6 - Penalty box player and a very good one at that. Crying out for a target man partner.

Fortune - 4 Hasn't played for a bit but he looked pretty grim. Actually did hit a couple of decent long range balls but looked well off the pace defensively.
n/a Benson - Should have started instead of either Wagstaff or NE.

Powell - So far overall, I haven't been over-impressed with his tactical nous. Benson with BWP please, one of Wagstaff/NE on the bench to come on later at right wing. Not two lightweights up front against a team who were always going to sit a little deep away from home. Early days and all that but to blow a reasonably assured play off position would be pretty damaging and would draw comparisons with Pardew in our first Championship season.
