Bouncy Bouncy was the best I have seen it at the Valley ... looked bloody good from the East Stand especially the 2nd time when loads joined in.
Normally only get to see this properly at away games so hope it can be kept up at home. Bound to look impressive from the Jimmy Seed which is what we want.

Just caught up with all the posts on this thread and unbelievably, no-one appears to have come up with the "excuse" that the fans were rather nervous ....
EVERYONE wanted to see the lads perform well for Chrissy's sake and I have no doubt that they too wanted to show the new gaffer what they could do. Maybe a case of trying too hard at times ?
As regards the quiet areas of the ground, I agree that the East & West patrons leave much to be desired although some of us DO join in the chants & singing on the whole.
However, I must admit that the West Upper resembles a crowd of stuffed dummies. Don't mean to be rude but whenever I look over there, hardly anyone is even CLAPPING !!! I'm sure there are exceptions & I apologise to the few but I would never sit in that area or take a newbie there....Think there should be a big sign on entering.." Please be aware that clapping, singing & cheering IS allowed in this Stand "
The noise is always generated from the home end behind the goal
It was embarrasing Saturday and I was amongst it.
The sllllooooow 'we are Charlton, we are Chaaaaaaarrlton' was stared by me and picked up by about sox others and they are my mates.
We have got loads of songs and not even difficult ones.
Even putting that aside we were so quiet it was shameful Saturday and it was Chris Powell the saviours first game at the steering wheel. I worry that it will not get any louder. We are the 12th man

I feel for you mate, I worry it wont get louder also :-( I think I heard you sing that very slow, but as you say, only 6 of you and I couldn't work out what you was singing i'm sorry to say, but now I know, ill be singing that with you next time!
[cite]Posted By: jazzyjazzyjazzy[/cite]I know this is not nice to say, but you think to yourself...If that were was another club i.e. Westham that was welcoming back Di Canio, would they have been that dull?
Agreed
We need a rocket up our collective arses to get going
Although I've never thought we've had the most passionate of fans compared to other clubs , hence our smaller away followings/per home fan ratio

I wonder if we had a larger than normal number of fans there who'd not been to the Valley recently and the reason for it going flat was their shock at the standard of football on display? It's a long way from what it used to be, but we are a 3rd division side now.
[cite]Posted By: Red_in_SE8[/cite]I don’t think anyone can complain about the reception that Chris Powell received when he walked onto the pitch. The rather flat atmosphere that followed was simply due to the poor quality, laboured and ponderously slow football that was played by both teams for most of the match. Hardly a chance was created and there was very little incident in either penalty area. I caught bits of the Villa v Man City game and some Spanish football later in the evening and seeing the tempo of those games and the way the players and the ball seemed to zip across the surface I began to wonder if there is something wrong with the playing surface at the Valley.
Sitting in the west stand I don’t really feel that the singing or lack of singing from the North Stand makes much difference to the atmosphere in the rest of the ground. For me, a good atmosphere is when every two or three minutes there are oohs and aahs, cheers, applause, people getting to their feet to see better or hurl abuse at the referee or an opposing player, cries of exasperation at a near miss or a refereeing decision, laughter at an incident or witty comment or chant from the crowd, collective burying of heads in hands as one of our strikers miss an open goal. On Saturday there were too many long periods of play which were so dull that it was perfectly understandable that the crowd and atmosphere was so muted.
Spot on - Chris has got his work cut out - there's no football in either full back or centre midfield player and until that changes, the quality will remain poor.
I thought the support was poor not only in numbers but in voice. I thought there would be a much larger crowd than there was, is that because of the general apathy surrounding the club?

Have you got an "ultras" group now then?
Are they as laughable as the Holmesdale Ultras, or the Fosse Boys or Red Faction?
Sounds like bods from Erith actually.

Why?
Why?[/quote]
Because
The East and West are never going to be the hub of atmosphere
The NU has to raise it's game
Oi! That hurt my feelings.
