  • Dailly 3 - turning circle of the QE2, no pace. Need to replace ASAP. Lucky they just had a big lump up front.
Rest of the team 7.5 apart from
    Anyinsah 8 Eccleston 8
    Wagstaff 8.5(mom)
Sorry for going against the grain, but obvious to me that Dailly lost 80% of his headers today. If we want to go up we need some pace at centre half. Sorry, really enjoyed the game but it needs saying.
Also don't think I've seen a player as bad as their right back for some time...

FYI the chap up front is about 6'4" and a nasty bastard. I'll also point out that he is still in Daillys pocket having not scored or troubled Robbie
  • Elliot 7 - Solid
Francis 6.5 Defended well but his crossing was abysmal, Powell please take him off corner and free-kick duty
Dailly 7 - Strong aerially and seemed confident on the ball as well
Doherty 7 - Strong in the air, more solid than usual
    Fry 7 - Solid again
Jackson 6.5 - Didn't have his best game today but I think we can let him off considering he's scored 13 goals this year
Semedo 8 - At his best today, he seemed to be everywhere across the pitch
Racon 7 - Solid and had good movement all game
McCormack 7 - Consistent but lacks pace down the wing, still, a good game from him
Wagstaff 8.5 - Brilliant game for him, great stamina and his work rate was phenomenal, best player of the season so far for me
Anyinsah 7.5 - Held the ball up well and made a nuisance of himself, fingers crossed he can stay fit

n/a Reid 7 - Didn't get enough of the ball to make an impact
n/a Eccleston 7.5 - Great finish for his goal and I think he tracked back a couple of times as well
    n/a Abbott 7 - Didn't have time

  • Swisdom - Granted chap upfront was 6 4, but was not in Dailly's pocket(IMO). Have seen lots of people slating Francis here every week, but do you not agree that we need at least one centre half? Charlie Austin destroys us everytime he plays against us, and we can't handle either agression or pace. The Green Army played into our hands with one up front and no-one withing 20 yards of him. Obviously Llera does not improve things here, so i hope Sir Chrissy Powell adds here.

I agree we need another centre half - ideally one with legs

However CP knew how they played and it was pretty basic stuff for dailly and Doc IMO

    Crowd 7
Chris Powell 10 - Great to get a win under the belt and we seemed to be moving away from dire hoof ball.
  • Francis could not cross for toffee today but was no lower than a 6. Very poor footballer still. Because the ratings system is based on how they perform within that team.

Thought Waggy did best both for work rate and for the subtlety of his touch for the goal. Impressed by the improvement in Fry - perhaps that's something to do with playing in the manager's position. Great home debut for Eccleston - great goal, but a lot of good running as well.
  • Elliot -6.5 Wasn't overly worked but done some good throws and was always looking to send soemone on their way.
Francis -6 Wasn't as bad as some like to think on here.
Dailly -8 Thought he bossed the back today, looked really assured and even had a little jaunt to the edge of their box.
Doherty -7 Worked well with Dailly, he is slow but when Dailly is reading the game so well thats not such a problem.
Fry -6.5Wasn't brilliant got forward a couple of times, but like most he did what he had to do and not many mistakes.
Jackson -6.5 another one that never set the game alight but also didn't do to much wrong.
Semedo -8 I'm not his biggest fan but he was really strong today, broke up play well and laid it off simple.
Racon -7 had a good game but will never be that player to take the ball off Semedo and make a defence splitting pass to our forwards.
McCormack -7.5 Thought he did ok nothing to special.
Wagstaff 9.5 Worked so hard from the first whistle, unsettled their defence with his never say die attitude, chased hopeless balls and scored a cool goal. Unlucky with the lob too.
Anyinsah -8.5 Thought he played really well, had the ball into feet which helped but he held it up well for waggy to support. Good unselfish play.

n/a Reid -6 just didn't really get going.
n/a Eccleston -7.5 Thought that was an excellent home debut fast as lightening good feet and a great eye for goal. Looking forward to seeing more of him.
    n/a Abbott -6 Like Reidy.
  • Elliot 7.5 - Looked good.
Francis 7 - Defended well. Final ball ball was a problem...until his final ball of the match which was superb.
Dailly 7 - Stuck to Fallon and got better as the game went on.
Doherty 7 - He was fine.
Fry 7 - Some good interceptions and was ok.
Jackson - 5 One nice bit of footwork but not much else.
Semedo - 7.5 All action and very committed.
Racon - 6.5 A few nice turns but we didn't see enough coming forward.
McCormack - 6.5 Won his flick ons and worked hard but wasted the one gilt edged chance to cross in 1st half.
Wagstaff - 7 Probably needs to be paired with a target man but tried hard and nipped in well for his goal.
Anyinsah - 6 Like Wagstaff, needs to be paired with a target man. Ran the channels ok but didn't get on the end of much. Never a goalscoring threat.

Reid - 6 One great bit of skill followed by a massively over-hit cross. Looked keen though.
Eccleston - 7.5 Did brilliantly to win the ball (back to Francis) and then spin for the pass. Terrific finish (aided by a nick of Plymouth bloke). Looks good but another one who will need to play off of a front man.
    n/a Abbott
  • Elliot 6.5 - Not much to do. Just wish he was more commanding
Francis 6.5 - Defensive work good, crossing awful.
    Dailly 7.5 - Excellent performance
    Doherty 7 - Good performance
Fry 7.5 - Put in a really good shift
Jackson 6.5 - Quiet game but popped up in their box first half and nearly scored.
Semedo 7.5 - Really strong performance marred by a needless booking.
Racon 7 - One of his better performances - tired towards the end.
McCormack 7 - Worked really hard and good distribution.
Wagstaff 8 - Gets better and better. I thought they struggled to cope with his movement and pace
Anyinsah 7 - Put in a decent shift, without really looking like he was going to score

Reid 6 - Miles better than his last home performance. Still too much of a show pony.
Eccleston 7 - excellent cameo, especially for his goal.
Abbott n/a Don't think he touched the ball.

McCormack 6.5 Surprise position on right. Prob not a natural wide man but persevered before tucking in later on.
Wagstaff 7.5 Constant nuisance and a goal born out of shear endeavour (& pace)
    Anyinsah 6

Not the most imaginative set of marks but it was just a good steady all round performance wher everyone did their job quite well.
  • Elliot - 6.5 - Not much to do but best kickin/distribution ive seen from him in a long time
Francis 6.5 - I'm sure there's a good player in there somwhere, whether we'll ever see it remains to be seen

n/a Eccleston - 7 great cameo and goal, him waggy and reid will never all play togther but now have options from the bench to change games
n/a Abbott - didnt do anything
  • Elliot 7 - Not too much to do. Poor command of area and slow to come out and collect.
Francis 6.5 - Some good defending. Poor passing and can't he learn to cross?
Dailly 7.5 - Solid - Looks better than his age.
    Doherty 7.5 - as above.
Fry 6.5 - OK. Quite a few mistakes and risk taking.
Jackson 7 - Good passing - bit quieter than usual.
Semedo 7.5 - Can't do without him IMHO.
Racon 7.5 - Ran everywhere and some good lay offs.
McCormack 7.5 Mean when needed - good vision.
Wagstaff 8.5 - MOM. Goal great pace and determination. Excellent tracking back. Turning into a good footballer.
Anyinsah 7.5 - Great hold ups - need another striker alongside.

n/a Reid 6.5 - Did what he could.
n/a Eccleston 7.5 - Great goal, looks keen.
n/a Abbott 6.5 not on for long - looks bored most of the time...

    Jackson 6.5
    Semedo 7
    Racon 7.5
    McCormack 7
Wagstaff 8.5 - Excellent anticipation for the goal
    Anyinsah 7

    n/a Reid 7.5
n/a Eccleston 8 - seemed to struggle out on the left but once he switched to the right he looked very good and enthusiastic. Possibly a bit lightweight but that won't matter if he's quick and skillfull enough! Great finish for the goal
    n/a Abbott 6.5
  • Elliot-7 - saved what few shots were on target - distribution better
Francis-6.5 - comfortable in defence great pass for the 2nd goal but set pieces poor
    Dailly-7 - solid
    Doherty-7 - solid
Fry-6 - made a few errors but didn't give up
    Jackson-6 - very quiet
Semedo-7 - typical Semedo display - always involved
Racon-6 - very quiet - a player of his ability should be far more involved
McCormack-6 - not his best position tried hard
Wagstaff-7.5 - full of running deserved his goal
Anyinsah-7 - hard working - their CB was holding on to him all game

n/a Reid-6.5 - opened up the left hand side late on
n/a Eccleston-7 - great pace and fine finish
    n/a Abbott-6 - no time to impress

Thought we were poor in MF yesterday - Racon had another very quiet game as did Jackson and I felt that whilst McCormack helped Francis out defensively I thought he wasted several opportunities to go forward in first half choosing to pass back or sideways when better placed to up the wing

Powell must get them working on set pieces every free kick, cross and corner seemed to go straight to the keeper (and Francis wasn't the only one at fault) - we created very few chances for the front 2 who both worked their socks off.
  • n/a Eccleston - 7 great cameo and goal, him waggy and reid will never all play togther but now have options from the bench to change games

Why would 2 wingers and a striker never play together?
