I am pretty certain he was aware that Burnley were interested in him before he turned us down. It was certainly reported that they were after him.
He couldn't be in contact with them publicly whilst he was negotiating with us and Palarse. He then claimed he was going to have the most difficult decision of his life to make. He turned us both down and professed his love for Bournmouth. Now he is apparently on his way out. I am afraid it stinks. I don't think he has played an honourable hand here. That's my opinion.
Ironically, what he did was best for us and Palace and allowed us to get our managers before the weekend, if he was indeed both of our first choices.
He could've strung the both of us along (or tried to) while he was really courting Burnley. No statement to the Bournemouth fans until today when he'd announce he's leaving for Burnley. Which would leave us and/or Palace having to restart the manager search now.
Turning us down for Bournemouth is understandable. Taking Burnley over Bournemouth is also understandable.
On the other hand, he could've just rejected the both of us straightaway and then there'd be no Echo live blog until whenever Burnley made their move and hence no statement to the fans
One thing about Curbs' speech after that Liverpool game with the covered end roof off, his words were "I will be here next season". Not "I will be manager of Charlton next season".
I won't lie, I walked away thinking he'd suckered us as he could have been at The Valley as West Ham manager the next season, ultimately he wasn't. But I still walked away fearing the worst!

I thought the same thing, also I can remember Lennie standing behind a cardboard figure of a player asking us to buy more season tickets so he can buy more players. The next he was off to boro.
You are all judging a man without any knowledge of all the conversations and considerations that took place regarding income, aspirations, fears, not just for the man himself but for all his family.
I can't say that I love Jesus
That would be a hollow claim
He did make some observations
And I'm quoting them today
"Judge not lest ye be judged"
What a beautiful refrain

But to back track 3 days later after saying about the upheaval of family etc doesn't look good for him.
Will be interesting to see how well he does now he is out of his comfort zone. Could work but he does seem a bit shy. We'll see.

The universe unfolds in the way that it will.
You would not get Chris Powell saying or doing that sort of thing. X
