  • Inevitable result with Howe leaving.
  • Exeter draw at Brentford 1-1, who if they had won could also have been on level points with us.
  • Eddie cost them that game tonight his players looked flat.

The man has no shame a mercenary of the highest order.

I ain't at all bitter about him especially as we've got powelly. But the contempt he has shown his fans . Sod the players he has shit on his so called beloved fans shame on you
  • Wasn't impressed with them this evening. Hopefully they'll go into free fall now.Wasn't that impressed with Howe's interview afterwards, either. Too shy. Glad we didn't get him as a manager
  • all a front VM the bloke is a charlaten a player of emotions. i dont believe a word the bloke says

    complete fraud
  • So who will manage Bournemouth now and can he sustain their promotion bid?

My money is on Gary Johnson ......IMO a shoe in, bearing in mind his West Country connections.
  • ask the bournemouth echo bloke he seems to have the finger on the post not like our newshopper ;-)
  • Hey, NLA ....... leave off the News Hopper.

He's always first with the match report. Even before the final whistle goes!

    ;o)
  • with the wrong players like sunday

i reckon he was at home listening to emma talk rubbish and getting the players wrong
  • So will Bournemouth fall away now?

We're you watching the same pictures as me.

If I were a Burnley fan I'd be worried. He looks so upset about leaving Bournemouth that I think he should stay there.

as upset as he was last week when he had a big decision to make and then he gave those poor afcb fans hope and then cut them too the quick within 24hrs

the same man who couldnt leave those players " hIs family"

should get an oscar mustve been thinking about his dead rabbit when he was a kid, i aint sold on it at all

    the fella is no good
  • Have you thought that burnley offered bournmouth lots of money (which they are in desperate need of) and are forcing him out....
  • Yes, but you can't question his record up to now.

I doubt that Burnley are offering Bournemouth anything that we/Palace didn't offer. What's more likely is that Burnley simply made him an offer he couldn't personally turn down and Bournemouth could never match.
  • Give the bloke a break - who wouldn't jump at the chance to live in Burnley?
  • I reckon burnley wud have offered more...
  • The same amount of compo both us and stripey cack offered. He said himself he turned us down.

His record is great hats off to that. It's the tear eyed little boy bit I don't get.

Those fans who went up there tonight waited at the end well some of them. A little wave and the sound of cash hitting his back pocke is all they got from him

I thought he had honour and dignity

Now I think he is no different to 99% of football people.

Thank god for Chris Powell there ain't many good guys left.
  • What a bellend... complete lack of integrity
  • I said after he decided to stay put last week that he might be able to get away with it once but he'd better be careful he doesn't try it too often. I had no inkling that he was that fickle that he could profess his desire to stay and then a matter of hours later, he's in talks with another club.

To me he has lost all credibility and if I were a Burnley fan, I'd be pretty worried.

Totally agree, I'm actually shocked that he has done this.
  • Give the guy a break.

He obviously loves Bournemouth but how many jobs can he turn down? He turned us and Palace down at the start of the week because he didn't feel the offers good enough to leave the club he loves. Then Burnley come in for him and he considers that to be a better offer -nearer to The Premiership than League 1. We don't know anything about salaries offered, transfer budgets etc. He seems to me to have been torn at making these decisions: he's probably lost a lot of sleep over it all. How can anyone on this site possibly judge him?
  • We had the narrowest escape of our lives when Howe turned us down.

Contrast his cynical behaviour with Powell's passion about returning to his ''spiritual home''.

What an absolute no good, two-timing , fork-tongued oppotunist.

The man is the new Alan Pardew...

    Meanwhile, Parkinson for Bournemouth ?
  • [cite]Posted By: Oggy Red[/cite]So will Bournemouth fall away now?

Probably. Fletcher will probably become player-manager and he may well keep it going for a few months. I doubt that they will go up though.
  • I have no problem with managers trying to better themselves BUT when you come out and say you couldn't leave because, you love the club, players etc then 3 days later say you are leaving then that smacks of double standards.

For once, we totally agree. Most of us would have been happy with him as Manager, he turned us down, we've now got Chris, everbodys happy.
  • He could've kept counsel and held back for Burnley at the beginning of the week it was pretty obvious by then that Watford were doing a good job of holding Burnley off for Mackay and that Howe was very much in the frame.

Regardless of past achievement, ties with the club, ambition, career focus or whatever you want to name... you DO NOT come out on Tuesday and proclaim that you're staying infront of the media and near-hysterical fans chanting your name while you throw an appreciative grin from ear to ear and then talk to another club just over FORTY-EIGHT hours later.

When he turned down us and palace at the beginning of the week, he should've made a personal if not a public statement that he would give Bournemouth at least until the end of the season regardless of who came calling. He's 33 and if he keeps his head down his stock would only rise towards the summer if he steered Bournemouth to a top six finish. Pathetic.

Understand what you are saying but in a way it's just bad luck that Burnley came along so soon. If this was now June then we or no one else would even be questioning it. He has ambition but if he had turned another job down he'd be accused of lacking any and th next job opportunity might be a long time coming.
  • Nope I ain't gonna give him a break.

There do you remember the season in the premier league when we all thought curbs was going to westham. We all waited in the covered end for the then traditional lap of honour. No one gave two craps that day about the players really it was about curbs. He come on the pitch and said I am staying I won't got to westham. I had the same feeling they did the relief the joy. Curbs stayed and finished what he started.

Eddie whore gave his word to those fans. He said he loved them couldn't leave. He loved his team like a family.

    All words no substance.

I hope he fails and gets the boot within 12 months and goes grovelling back to afcb
  • June I could understand. He was in talks 24 hrs later

24 hours the man is a fraud more fool burnley
