Just saw this on Sky Sports as well. I know we have just signed a striker but not really in a position to loan another out, still feel slightly aggrieved with Abbott that we haven't seen much of what i thought was a good player at this level. And also, who is making these decisions if true?

I believe we need better to secure promotion and we haven't seen a great deal from Pav in the albeit limited amount we have seen of him
So in the absence of a manager, as Nicorob asks, who is taking these decisions on player movements?
yep a good sign he is useless
We won't need a target man if we play it on the deck
Steve Howard from Leicester... Sven is having a clear out

Jiminez. When him and Slater took over they talked about using his contacts in the game to bring players in. Even when we get our new manager in, I reckon he'll have a big say in who we buy and sell.
Billy Paynter from Leeds
Agree with Mart that if we are moving players out that is a sign of more coming in.
Phil CHapple still around BTW
Dave Penney has taken Pav wherever he's gone, plays to the player's strengths, knows how to get the best out of him.
And so Pav scores goals for him. Consistantly.
Players perform best with the right combination of players around them, with the right tactics - and for a forward a bit of service is often all they need.
Somehow at Charlton, he's never had that - nor a decent run in the side.
We haven't seen the best of him, that's for sure.
But he's not had a proper chance.
no straight to the point he aint any good i dont rate him and players like him are the reason why we are in the mess we are in.
Ray Davies from The Kinks.
If we're looking for a similar player to replace Pav then Paynter or Howard would be great, but, maybe not that realistic. Alternatively we could keep Pav and start using him right because if we signed another slow target man and continue to play him like we have Abbott they'll do little better imo.
Not a bad shout Henners. Just come back from injury and Leeds may well be in the market for a striker or two if they gamble on making a real push for the PL.
Squad already has: Becchio, Gradel, McCormack, Somma, Grella, as well as Paynter.
