Not Charlton related, but when the London Broncos played at the Valley we went quite a few of the games. One week we were heading home from my parents in Bradford with my brother and decided to stop off at the Broncos away game in Leeds. I think I am right in saying that, in a crowd of about 20,000, we three we're the only Bronocos fans...
Bradford City away on a thursday night, was an election night and we lost seem to remember that was a low turnout
Not Charlton Related but i went to Yeovil Vs Darlington evening ko Darlo had about 30 in the away end. Been To A few others like Macceslfield vs Scunthorpe evening ko and about 50 scunny was a re-arranged fixture. Scarborough vs Hartlepool was about 20 pool fans.
I don't know how many travelled, but it seemed a little lonely at the Mestalla when I went with my wife for the weekend during our pre-season trip as part of the Llenera relationship.
I was at the Northampton and Lincoln games, probably 150 ish, bit of new ground syndrome, so they could have been even worse. But, without getting into advanced mathematics, they were probably a bigger percentage of our home gate than we'd take now. We were either loyal or gluttons for punishment.......
If we are talking non Charlton then I have seen many a low turnout at Southend games.
I was a ball boy against Hereford one Tuesday night in the 80's and I reckon there were 20 or so, although they all seemed to be nutters and didnt stop singing all game other than giving me dogs abuse for wearing my Charlton hat.
Burnley away 1996, officially there were 64 of us there. We played in red shirts and green shorts.
Not got the figures but some of the later away games in 2010-11 must be small. I was at Rochdale and Southampton on Tuesday nights and there can't have been more than 150 Addicks at each game.
392 at St Mary's, well it looked a lot less! Maybe I'm remembering what it looked like after an hour's play with us 2-0 down and most people had buggered off to the pub!
I also recall Oldham in the 96-97 season where I made two trips thanks to a postponement of the first game. For both journeys it really was a 'one coach' affair and that wasn't full. The game, when it was eventually played, was awful and played in driving wind and rain with Brendan O'Connell scoring a last minute equaliser.
Brighton at the goldstone for me. About 70 for zenith data systems cup in mid December. Lost 3 nil. Also happens to be the coldest I've been at a Charlton match.
Oh yes, slipped my mind that one. Had the worst curry ever in an Indian around the corner afterwards.
Some records i obtained from Greenwich Police back in season 1994-1995 Oldham 5-2.....679 Portsmouth 1-1.......1016 Grimsby 0-1..............274 Stoke 3-2..................241 Swindon 1-3 cup........305 Notts County 3-3.......804 Port Vale 0-2.............405 Derby 2-2,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,603 Sunderland 1-1.........167 Tranmere 1-1...........410 Barnsley 2-1.............330 Wolves 2-0...............832 Luton 0-1................660 Bolton 5-1...............313 Playing in same division as this season only four teams remain .This first appeared in VOTV march 1995.
Did most of those, and met the wife on the coach to the Bolton stuffing.
Bad day all round....
I also did most of those including the Bolton Stuffing........didn't meet AFKA's wife though!
Lowest away crowd - how about three men and a dog? If my memory serves me correctly, we played an away friendly at Folkestone before the start of the 1976 season. I was staying with a relative in New Romney, so I went along. It was a fine summer's evening. I can't remember the result, but I do recall I appeared to be the only 'active' Addicks fan present, before being joined by two late middle aged fans, who had brought along Rover for his evening constitutional. I assume canine support for Charlton, as the beast in question seemed to wag his tail everytime we were on the attack! On a serious note, Graham Tutt was between the sticks trying to regain form and confidence after an appalling injury inflicted by some Sunderland swine called Tom Finney. I remember talking to Graham at half time. Unfortunately, he never regained his pre injury form and had to retire from the club.
Notts County away 1990? Midweek, think it was day before halloween - can only have been 50 of us. Freezing cold - reduced to nuying cups of bovril just to hold.
Drew 2-2, they scored straight after half time and we equalised a minute later. Then they scored in last minute and again we equalised a minute later.
how you remember that onelung i'll never know i was at this but could not recall the scoring sequence or the number of away fans (shame on me, i was drunk as a youngster)

Stuart Balmer scored two own goals and then another the week after.
Clem, I don't think Balmer got two own goals that night; he got one earlier that month in a 2 1 home defeat to Leicester though. 90/91 was my first season so I recall it in minute detail still. I even remember the attendance being exactly 6,000.

went up there as my mate had just gone to Nottingham UNi and remember all the bouncers were dressed up Halloween style. Also had to invent a funeral to get time off work.

Might be others that I can't remember.
