Keithy P is a legend in my book , i was at his book signing once and i asked him to write a comment in his book i bought for my Dad who was recovering from a heart bypass op , he invited me and my Dad to come down to the training ground when my dad was better , i never did go as my dads health is still not great , but for that gesture alone , he is a decent human being , and a credit to this club.
please please no curbs go out and find someone else this club does not revolve around the man you can achieve things without using the same trick, fuck me theres plenty of managers out there
Jacko on Twitter has just said he has seen very little of Keith in his time there. Hopefully Matthews has more of a rapport and/or we get a perm person in ASAP
[cite]Posted By: nth london addick[/cite]to me it says no decision is made and talks are underway if it was wise i reckon he wouldve been in by now
what i'm beginning to think.
if it was going to be wise he'd be straight in, he isn't going to announce him first thing Monday "look who we just thought of" and pretend that it was out of the blue.
Wise isn't going to be manager, involved maybe but manager no.
Whatever happens in Sunday's game is generally unimportant in the grand scheme of our season, nobody expects us to beat Spurs (not many Prem sides beat Spurs these days either so that is no disgrace) but I would dearly love to see us rattle them and give them a game and show the footballing world at large that Charlton Athletic are still out there and are competitive. Keith Peacock is a CAFC God who's great name will never be tarnished no matter what happens in his one or two games as a caretaker boss,he has fabulous experience and is more than capable of preparing us for a cup tie, one things for sure he will pump the side up and inject a bit of pride into those players and I know he will love every moment God bless him, he thoroughly deserves it. I'm sure Damian Matthew will relish the experience too.
[cite]Posted By: Oakster[/cite]I haven't seen Gavin P around for ages, he also played with Wise - hopefully I'll bump into him soon and get the inside story!!
Small place, Canada! ;-)

I loved him, but he didn't half used to get barracked from certain quarters when he was playing! It's not a new thing.

Well if Gavin Peacock has any sense, he'll be hibernating.
I know I would in your minus 35 degree Canadian temperatures. Brrrrrrrr!

It would be far too obvious to install their mate immediately, far better to be seen to go through a "process" and then appoint him because he has supposedly been the "best candidate available."

You'd have to be fairly limited in the old cranium to buy it though - do they think we're THAT stupid... you'd hope not!

A sprightly zero here today Oggy I'll have you know.
Blimey, not bad, Oakster. It must seem like spring has sprung to you over there.
Before you know it you'll be bumping into Gavin again at the papershop or petrol station.
Or do Peacocks (like squirrels) hibernate all winter until their nuts have gone?

My father-in-law breeds peacocks, horrible things - I once took my brand new metallic silver A4 down to their place only to find in the morning an entire side of the car scratched beyond belief because a feckin peacock could see it's reflection in the car and decided to get pwopa naughty with it.
Keiffy won't get the same treatment as Sir Les because the mistake they made at the time was not saying that Les was a caretaker manager. Nobody is going to blame Keiffy if things go tits up.
I for one can't wait to give it large in the "Keiffy Peacocks Red and White Army" department.

Careful what you wish for
Which means .......... ?
Peacock deserves better (as did Les Reed) and I hope he didn't feel pressured into accepting this appointment.
This Club has sadly become a pale shadow of the one he left in 2006 on the playing field, in the stands and in the ethics displayed by the hierarchy.
They did it to Parky earlier in the season and appear to have little or no knowledge or regard for the heritage of our Club.
Oh please Len, give it a rest.
glad peacock has been given the chance to join our list of managers even if it is for only a game or 2

Was that Gavin or his dad?
