Any manager would've been under pressure as it was but if your team are gonna play like last night then you are only gonna make it easy for the owners to put in place what they probably already had in mind anyway.
This time next year I doubt if even 3 of last nights side will be here and I would say that some will only get clubs in leagues below too. . . .will be the Wimpy for em not the Oxo for dinner!
Hardly used Sky to show what great players there are eh. . . .
There needs to be major questions asked of these new owners if it turns out they have lied about Dennis Wise involvement. I'm not saying that getting rid of Parky is a mistake, just don't say you're not going to when you know full well a home defeat in the next game will see him out the door.
Maybe this was in Slater and Jiminez's manifesto. Then when they won the election bought the club, they found the deficit between expecta tion and reality was bigger than they had realised and they were forced into more drastic surgery than they had originally intended.
Who knows? What we do know is that after Slater said they wanted automatic promotion not play-offs, Parky knew he was facing the biggest trial of his life. And if Colchester and Swindon were his application form to keep his job, he showed that he didn't even know how to fill the form in, didn't he?
Saw yesterday's press conference with Slater on CAFCTV and when asked about Parkinson his 'support' was packed full of qualifications and caveats! I assumed it was just because he's a lawyer!!!
After a month of due dillegence there is no way they wouldn't have known everything before hand.
I'm sure there plan was always to eventually bring in they're own man. If we'd got 7 points out of the 9 this week there is no way they couldn't have fired parkinson. They certainly would have wanted 6 points, and possibly 9 after two of the opponents were reduced to 10 men. I think the results this week have meant they can now do what they wanted sooner rather than later, and with the backing of most of the crowd, that wouldn't have been the case if we'd got 7 points this week and been clear in second and right on Brighton's tail.
Liars? Give it a rest. I liked Parky and I'd have liked it if we could have been successful with him. Perhaps they felt the same. But we've just been completely outplayed at home by two relegation candidates, playing appalling football in the process, and we've been unable to capitalise on opponents losing a man twice in one week. We have been getting worse with no sign of improvement!

I think the rather desperate stop-gap appointment of Keith P proves Slater was not lying. He had hoped to be able to support Parkinson and clearly did not have someone else lined up.
Parkinson forced Slater/Jiminez/Varney's hand for all the reasons listed above by GFand possibly other factors, too - including morale and confidence in the dressing room, which he could not have known about and which probably horrified him when he realised that everything was as brittle as eggshells.
What did you want the bloke to say when he took over. Yep, Parky will be given 2 more games (v Brighton & Swindon) and if he doesn't get x points we will fire him as we want to be entirely honest. We have Dennis Wise lined up to take over as manager so that will be fine. However for the next 2 games we will back Parky and hope he wins them both?
Maybe he lied, maybe he didn't but seriously peeps sometimes you are in a position where honesty is not the best policy.
I liked Parky but ultimately we have looked dreadful since 20th November - that spans quite a few games against pretty poor opposition, and it was getting worse not better.
Who knows what was said between Parky & Chairman...for all we know Slater called Parky in today said I have a couple of mill to invest who are you interested in buying and Parky said, well we need a CM so Amady Faye is our man!

Really?
Monday, mid-afternoon, the press are briefed and told that "We’re going to have a meeting with Phil to decide what he needs in terms of strengthening and we’ll give him the support that he need".
Monday, later afternoon, Swindon (who have already beaten Sheff Wed; Huddersfield; and Southampton (twice); of the top six) beat Charlton.
Did the strategy of the company change in a few hours?
Even before yesterday they prob had there mind made up but they can't come in and say in there first press conference. No were going to sack him. Don't happen like that I'm afraid
They haven't lied, they've just made a hard nosed business decision based on what they saw on Monday night. Shite players, shite tactics and the crowd leaving in their droves before the final whistle.
It's a very disappointing way for our club to behave. I don't know if I can bring myself to call it a lie - but it's not far away is it? If Wise is appointed it's cleary been a stitch-up.

Maybe Parky felt the inevitable and knew he was a gonner prior to the Swindon game, although I'm glad of the change I do feel bad for Parky, especially as it seems he was guranteed time and not giving it.
Liars or shrewd business people who understand the dirty business of modern football perhaps a bit better than the old school heart on your sleeve chairman?
If the gamble pays off and we find ourselves doing a Norwich, Leeds or even Millwall this time next year I doubt many of us would honestly be too concerned by the morality of such statements.

They have their own agenda which never included Parky.Diplomatically could not do it straight off but cynically exploited yesterday's non performance. This is two days after
Slater eulogised Parky and promised him new players. Its no coicidence that the team went backwards as soon as news of a takeover started to emerge.Like any manager in any enterprise Parky must have known who the buyers were and also bright enough to know he was never in their grand scheme.
But Hey its their money and they can do what they like. But Slater's credibility has diminished in my eyes.
I detest all this stuff about liars. People are allowed to change their mind. For what its worth I am sure they do have some one in mind. It doesn't mean that Parky was an automatic choice for the sack but he would always be under close scrutiny.
There is talk of a row last night behind the scenes. Perhaps that lead to where we are now. The team hasn't been playing well now for some while. Last night was pretty clueless. You can take a benign view that it was "just one of those nights" but frankly the manager made some howlers last night compounded by the gamble to go three at the back.
I think its sad for Parky and his staff but its not altogether surprising.
No way are they liars. I agree with them and would have done the same. A week ago I would have somewhat pensively given Parky some money to spend.
However, after being outplayed by 10 men on 2 seperate occasions and then getting mullered by a poor Swindon, they had to sack him.
We are aiming for promotion and mid table is not good enough.
how is it a stich up we have beenshit for 3 years+ ------------Murray couldnt get rid of Parky he had no money. They havnt only seen the last two games they would have had reps at at least the last 2 months plus---they could see we are KAK--------------its only the fact that this is a truely poor division this year we aint down the bottom.
It will be Denis Wise (no inside knowledge) but they know him----------so he isnt a "Charlton type" so f**kin what !! the same people giving it that its the fans fault Parky was shit are moaning about someone who may be our new manager before he is even inside the ground.
Denis if your reading this make sure your photographed with the guardian under one arm and Labour weekly under the other, red wedge will love you then as your the "charlton type" ------FFS
I doubt whether it was Slaters decision to make. More likely to be the decision of the money man/men.
How anyone could blame them for making such a decision after witnessing the past few games is beyond me.
After two years in charge we should be seeing some progress. Instead the football has been embarrassingly poor, crowds are dwindling and it now seems that the players were no longer putting in 100%. Parky has been paid very well, he's had terrific backing by Richard Murray and he's had good squads to work with. He blew his chance, and our chance of success, by stubbornly refusing to play Shelvey in the second half of last season when one extra goal could have been the difference between the play offs and automatic promotion. I feel sorry for Kins, because I'm sure he loves the club, but I felt much more sorry for Les Reed than I do Parky for the same reason. Parky was handed a wonderful opportunity and had the fabulous honour of managing our club, something most of us could only dream of. Unfortunately he wasn't up to the job. A quick and decisive decision by the new board, something we have been lacking in recent years both off the pitch and on it.

The first of what i'm sure will be many more porkies.
