And when Parkinson is gone - whether it is tomorrow, next week or in May - I predict all his fans who are currently campaigning for him to stay won't shed a tear over him.
Just as those arguing right up until the day Pardew was sacked that he ''deserved'' more time, conveniently forgot their support for him and celebrated his departure.
I can honestly remember only one poster who after Pardew's sacking admitted that he still felt the board was wrong and that the bloke should have been given more time. Everyone else who had agreed deserted. As you all will this time, too!
[cite]Posted By: Stu of HU5[/cite]Ah, it's all the fans fault.
No it's not all the fan's fault, but neither is it all the board's fault or all the player's fault or all Parky's fault.
If our home form is shite, and the players look edgy and nervous then we as fans can try and do something to aid that. We can't make Benson jump higher, we can't make Martin choose to pass instead of shoot and we can't make Parky pick a proper target man to play lone striker, but we can make ALL Charlton players feel at home and supported and make the away players feel intimidated. The Sky commentary team picked up on the edgy atmosphere about the place almost from kick-off so it's obviously there. Whether that starts with the players or the fans is irrelevant, it's there, we know it's there and as fans we can try to do something about it. If that makes the difference and helps us even in only a couple of games, surely that's worth it and that's what home fans are supposed to do?
