[cite]Posted By: nth london addick[/cite]Jazzy when we went on that unbeaten 11 games are you saying it was inspite of him or because of him
when we win its his team
when we lose its his his team
the whole shamboplic nature of the abject shite we have been served up at home bar sheff weds has been a mark on his shite style of football
Correct. I think I just didn't want to believe that, and the red mist over my eyes today was just thinking of the players and the players only, but fair is fair it now I am more calm, it is indeed Parky's fault.
Dont just roll over Jazzy it is BOTH who are at fault.
Yes Parkinson's tactics have been found to be inept at times but these players should be completely knackered after each and every game of 90 minutes striving towards the obvious motivation of promotion.
[quote][cite]Posted By: jazzyjazzyjazzy[/cite]It's the players fault full stop. Again, how does booing and all that bollocks help?[/quote]
[quote][cite]Posted By: Dazzler21[/cite][quote][cite]Posted By: WSS[/cite]He has to take some of the responsibility, he's the manager. Although I agree, the players need to stand up and be counted - too many sub par performances. 14 to be exact.[/quote]
If it is the players fault fair enough...but who bought them...Benno, Martin, Reid, McCormack, Fortune, Francis, Jackson, Abbott, Sodje, Dailly...all Parky. Hence whether you want to blame the players or not at the end of the day responsibility has to lie with PArky.
I have to agree Parky needs to remotivate these players and FAST. I will give him 3 games before i call for change and those 3 must be wins.[/quote]
One of those is against Spurs...we won't win that may as well sack the bloke now and get it done with.
[cite]Posted By: Goonerhater[/cite]Darren Furguson done well at this level with The Posh and could get a few useful loan signings and wont cost us and money in getting him in
This is a very good point. I'd like to see little Fergie take us back to playing against big Fergie and his boys!
I rarely call for any manager to be sacked and I have always argued that Parkinson has had to manage the club in very, very difficult times but this performance was almost beyond belief. Clearly the players did not perform but the nature of the performace poses a whole series of questions - for example:
1. Was Fry dropped, injured or unavailable? He had a bad game against Colchester but he is the left back. Was his performance so bad it was necessary to disrupt the balance of the only functioning unit by moving Jackson to fullback.
2. Why change to 4-3-3 with virtually no time to bed the system down?
3. Why when changing to 4-3-3 were the midfield roles not tied down? Racon appeared to have a largely free role and talented player though he is - he was all over the place. It was crucial the other midfield players were defensively disciplined. What exactly was McCormacks role?
4. Why play 4-3-3 and with effectively Reid and Martin operating wide? To do so you need an exceptional target man - Benson whatever his talent may be - is not and never will be a primary target man.
5. Do these players know about the creation and use of space? The basic discipline of the game is passing the ball to feet early and moving into space. This was like watching 11year olds – I lost count of the number of times players received/collected the ball and ran with it towards their own (normally marked) players denying both their and their teammate’s space.
6. Please explain the lack of confidence in this side. At 1-2 nearly every forward player treated the ball like a hot potato – I was convinced at one point they were playing foot tennis with the ball having to go over some imaginary net – a whole series of passes ended about people necks , ears, thighs and god knows what else!!
7. Please explain the lack of any spirit? Again at 1-2 down players were just walking about heads down – with absolutely no interaction with each other. The body language said it all, no belief in themselves, no belief in what they were doing, no appetite – they looked and were lost.
8. Please, please, please explain the extraordinary decision to replace Fortune with Sodje. The defence had been vulnerable to set pieces all game (like most of the past weeks)? What possessed you to remove the one defender who had shown an ounce of defensive common sense through the game?
For some reason this last issue reminded of a desperate Firmani decision to play Kenning at left back in a struggling defense because he was an experienced right winger. We lost the game against Leicester City 0-5, Kenning was substituted at half time – it was Firmani’s last game in charge.
I regret this defeat can be laid at only one persons door. For his sake I hope Mr Parkinson has some answers.

Took Preston to bottom of the Championship. Would he be an improvement?
fuck tactics and all that shite the players with have simply aint good enough and havent been for ages same goes for the manager, we have been papering over the cracks for too long , this is supposed to be a new era in the history of our foootball club and i believe changes need to be made asap its happened in the board room now fans want to see it happening elsewhere.

Good post.
Can't blame Parky for some of the mistakes (such as Dailly's for Swindon's second), but the formation doesn't suit the players we have and that's a big problem.
On the first question, Parky answered that when interviewed after the game, he felt Fry (along with Doherty) looked tired/jaded after the Colchester game.
today what not completely parkys fault but... it was the last straw on my back.
For the past 2 years.... I AM SO SICK OF SEEING CHARLTON PLAY WITH NO SPINE AND ABSOLUTELY NO STYLE OF PLAY. "Lump it deep and hope we can pin them in at all times"
The performance was terrible like always i don't see why you are all shocked. But tbf the atmosphere was terrible tonight the only time half of the people in north upper sung was negative about parky or boo'ing, What do you expect if your like that? COYR!!!! Parky in!!!!
Same old again - blaming the manager. For what it's worth I think there are an awful lot of things happening behind the scenes we just haven't been told about because from where I was today there were players out there who really looked disinterested and a 'hairdryer' treatment from Sir Alex Ferguson wouldn't have inspired them.
Correct me if I'm wrong but there were players out there performing in front of their new employer. Now if it was you or me, wouldn't you want to impress him? It's obvious that being on TV does little to inspire the players, but a new boss? The man who pays your wages? Surely that would mean something?
None of those players could claim they put in 100% effort today, none of them could look in a mirror and claim they gave their all. They were a disgrace against Walsall, have had two poor results away from home and now today's performance; this isn't just a one-off. Fans will often try and kid themselves that we know best about tactics and formations and all the other bolox, but there has to be more than that to explain the incompetence we are seeing from the players. It just isn't good enough, but I really don't know what the problem is or indeed the solution.

are the board still confident that parky will spend their money wisely, lol? i think we now know why wise has been brought in behind the scenes. if the new owners are going to spend anything they want a seasoned pro to oversee it. has parky got the humility to resign?
i'm not a 'sack the manager' type of fan but TOTALLY AGREE with Grapevine 49. Parky's substitutions were bewildering - WHAT WAS HE DOING? What does Akpo Sodje contribute? Answers on a postcard, please.
[cite]Posted By: The Prince-e-Paul[/cite]i think we now know why wise has been brought in behind the scenes.
Was he?
bloody hope so - i wouldn't trust parky or Chapple or whoever else has been unearthing our players for the last few years to spend another penny. if we only get semedo out of midfield and bring in a proper central midfield player we will double our chances of winning at home.

it was unbelievable - almost looked like a manager who wanted to be sacked.
The thread title states 'not Parky's fault'. He's not totally to blame but has to shoulder a great burden of the responsibility with the tactical decisions he made. In fact it was quite an interesting game tactically... however sadly Wilson outdid Parky in this respect.
Cracking post by Grapevine above. Agree that Fortune for Sodje was an inexplicable substitution, but the first 2 subs also crippled us and ruined any chance of getting back into the game.
Disagree with Scoham on the previous page (to an extent) that our players don't suit a 4-5-1/4-3-3 formation. I think we can use a combination of players to make it work. It wasn't outrageous to use it tonight as Swindon lined up 4-5-1 as well, and 4-4-2 against 4-5-1 can lead to difficulties. However, swapping to 4-4-2 when we were already struggling to maintain possession with 5 in midfield was absolutely mental, even if we did need to chase the game. It only made things harder.

The man is a pretender and deserves the boos.

C'mon this is the problem with Charlton either 90% support or 90% negativity why no inbetweeners?
What else am I ment to do? I said I supported Parky and having 99% of people that disagree with me.... I must be wrong!
