Abbott 6 - one of his better games, too often his touch has let him down. better tonight, didn't get enough support from other players though
  • I would have thought Jackson could have been awarded a score, especially as my Dad announced that he wold hit the ball straight down the middle, and he did, and the 'Keeper didn't move and saved it.

He later disclosed thatnhe knew that was where the bal would go. Clearly Jackson's contribution was quite significant.
  • Not going to post scores as I'm kind of uneasy doing it from the TV and I'm also fed up with having to give everyone shit marks.

But suffice it to say that I find all the 6s and 6.5s awarded above to be distinctly over-generous !

Even Elliot and the defence? They weren't poor were they?

  • Elliot - 7 Nothing to do except avoid the firecrackers thrown at him by twats behind the goal.
Doherty- 7.5 Untroubled and a brilliant block as usual.
    Fry - 7 Solid
Jenkinson - 7.5 Calm under pressure and tried to retain possession.
Dailly - 7 Looked as though he'd never been away. One great thumping tackle in the 1st half.
    Semedo - 7 Pretty steady.
Racon - 7.5 Lovely through ball for Reid 1st half. Stopped Bees from dominating.
Martin - 4 The weak link last night.
Reid - 6 Effort but not much end product.
McCormack - 7 Did a good job breaking up the play.
Abbott - 6 Had a good 1st half until the booking. Looked shot early in 2nd half but he's not suited to the lone striker role.

I was at the game (in the Bees end).

Dailly - 7 gave us more stability at the back.
Semedo - 5.5 lost the ball a lot
Racon - 7 lots of challenges made up for a few of Semedos errors

Don't really understand posters who mark players ridiculously low, maybe because they're upset at being knocked out of a competition...... and nothing to do with each player's actual performance.

For what it was worth, I thought it was a battling team effort .....while we could have done better in the last third.

    Elliot - 7 Solid, dependable.
Doherty- 8 MOM Invariably in the right place at the right time.
Fry - 7 Really stuck to his task and got forward when he could.
Jenkinson - 7 Kept things simple and tidy, a debut to be proud of.
Dailly - 7 A little rusty to begin with, but soon settled into playing a very dependable game.
Semedo - 7 Solid and Semedo. Played like a defender. Just wish he offered a little more on the ball.
Racon - 7 Some good probing passing and runs, just needed a little more support when he got forward.
Martin - 6 Well, he ran and ran, got in some good positions, but nothing came off for him.
Reid - 7 If this player had a footballing brain he'd be truly lethal; even so, 3 opponents booked trying to keep him in check.
McCormack - 7 Good positional play, neat and tidy, won tackles and kept the play moving.
Abbott - 6 Played a role that doesn't suit his game, with no support. Spent much of the game isolated. But kept going.

n/a Jackson-1 - for the penalty miss - like others I'm sure I declared this was a banker as keeper would stay still so Jackson merely had to hit to the left or right - went straight down the middle. When I questioned the idiocy of that costly miss by brother reminded me that these players are playing at this level for a reason!
n/a Anyinsah-6 posed problems for them when he came on
n/a Benson -5 not enough time to show.
