Insurance doesn't cover adverse weather conditions so have to get to the airport if only to be told I can't fly to Malta as that IS an insured event. Seems pretty daft and ill advised to me to me, but will I make it to the airport by car? Planning to leave at 06:00 and allowing 4 hours to get there. ( Have packed shovels, blankets thermos etc.)

No point in going - insurance or otherwise.
How are they going to know you didn't turn up there?
17:00 Important passenger advice
Due to severe weather conditions, there will be no departing and arriving flights at Gatwick today or overnight. The runway will remain closed until at least 10:00 hrs Thursday 2nd December. There will be significant disruption, delays and cancellations tomorrow and passengers should not set out for the airport before checking with their airline for the latest information.
A lady was going to Heathrow as she had been there two days!
Hope you get away, you will need a holiday to get over the Gatwick fiasco.......
Very irresponsible of them to tell you to travel to an airport that is widely known as being totally closed
The other 720 have gone to Rochdale to try to save the game.
No chance of flights today, Weather due to ease in the southeast by 7pm tonight depending on the clean up operation flights are scheduled in and out from 6 am,
You need to check with your operator and find out how they will be dealing with the back log expect delays minimum

Be interesting to see if this goes ahead!, with or without the extra 720.
I will settle for either, but as the snow clearing in Bexley has FA of a chance, let's hope the game is on shall we!
