Sebastien Sainsbury owns a several-acre site next to the O2, at which it is possible to gain planning permission for a 40,000-seater stadium.
His plans are to buy the club, invest in the team in order to see it promoted to the Premiership, gain planning permission for the stadium, then exit.
This would leave Charlton with a Premiership squad and new owners who would then have a choice of whether to move to the brand new site or flog it and retain the Valley.
And the new build at the corner of Floyd road is going to be a Sainsbury's local.
What more proof do people need?
[cite]Posted By: stonemuse[/cite]We don't need a new thread ... improved? .... huhhh what's so good about it ... support the proper Charlton takeover thread
down with the new thread
sink it ;-)
The old threads have had their chance. They have failed. No takeover and no worthwhile rumours. Living on past glories.
They were good once but they shoot horses don't they.
In light of the new housing allowance cap I think Mr Sainsbury's plan would be to buy the Addicks, sell of most of the players, make Parky put on his boots and become a player / manager and when we go non-league convert the valley to a sink estate for the thousands of people on income support having to move out of their £1,000,000 a year rented mansions in Westminster asnd Hampstead and Dulwich Village. It says here. And it's in the Daily Mail so it must be true. Alternatively all talk of a takeover is a load of old cock. COYR!
Takeover the addicks? I'll tell you who's taking over the addicks. No-one, that's who. Now if you've got a problem with that you'll have to see Mrs Ticket. And Mrs Ticket isn't in a very good mood right now, on account of the dog's got fleas, right? So do you want me to pick up this phone, and interrupt Mrs Ticket in the middle of her morning cup of tea and tell her that you think that someone else is taking over the addicks? Cos I can do that, if you insist. Well do you?

Thank-you. We're reluctant to reveal until we're as sure as we can be - not in CAFC's interests to do so. Pls understand.
See now he realises keep your big fat gob shut Roan until the bloody thing is out in the open, you are not breaking news on Man Yoo or chelski there is very limited intrest from outside Se7 and EN1 so you dont need to be the first to break the news.
And then i wont get told off for saying its cack.
Thats what got my fooking goat up in the first place
NOT IN CAFC INTERESTS didnt i bloody say that last week.
[cite]Posted By: Chizz[/cite]Per Magnusson is being lined up as the new Chairman of Charlton, when the consortium (Sainsbury/AEG) completes its takeover.
Is this true or made up?
Don't want to seem rude Sainsbury is one thing - but anything with AEG's backing is likely to involve significantly more money.

You were quite reliably informed last week that it was all bollocks?

Where did this article come from or is it just speculation?
Sainsbury and AEG are currently working on a plan to take Spurs to the Olympic stadium. The plan is to remove the athletics track and turn it into a fotball ground just as Man City did with the COMs Stadium after the Commonwealth Games.
Just popped over to 606 to see what was being said on there - not just takeover talk - and saw a thread on the dreaded 'T' word. Opened it up and followed a link back to dear old Dan Roan. He was asked a question about how excited should a CAFC supporter (Baggo87) be out of 10 about the potential takeover. His answer I have pasted below. Just thought I'd update you what I've seen elsewhere.
@Baggo87 Sure - understand - that's why we're waiting before saying more - there's genuine interest from more than 1 party so 7/8.
