You know, in years gone by, I would have been jumping all over the place BUT it didn't really make me that arsed and it still hasn't really which is pissing me off. I feel confused to honest! Where do we go from here? Where are we going to go from here?
I am hoping that I will fully celebrate the 3-4 victory on Saturday alongside a CONVINCING performance and victory against Sheffield Wednesday.
If we do play well and win on Saturday then the 3-4 victory at Carlisle will mean something, until then it is a small step in the right direction for me, mainly due to conceding 3 goals in a short space of time and the fact that we have now conceded 7 goals in 2 games. This is a big concern! I am really not happy with our central midfield selection and central defence (the all-so-important spine of the team that the pundits always cite as imperative to get right!

With an attitude like that you should be a football pundit. What a typical cliche!

Why? Explain? Do you not see a problem in the 'spine' of our team then?
If you respond to a post at least have something to say rather than snipe!!
I'd been getting progressively more stick from my housemates as we sat round Jeff watching Charlton crumble. Then when we heard the 7th goal had gone in they all prepared themselves to bundle me in celebration of the ultimate humiliation. But then it flashed up on the screen: Carlisle 3 Charlton 4.
I yelled YESSSS, danced round the room, then collapsed in a euphoric heap in the middle of the front room mumbling 'Bloody Benson! Get the f**k in!". Magic.

Mate sometimes you've just got to forget reason and go absolutely mental. God knows we don't support Charlton for trophies, it's all about little moments such as these.

Having earlier on in the thread admitted to mild incontinence.....I have to come clean. I am actually in agreement with NSS. I did very little. My first instinct was to think of the Dagenham game.
To be fair I usually have little reaction to goals relayed on SSN.
If I'd been there I'm sure it would have been a different matter.
Although I was immensely pissed off when it went to 3-3 it never once crossed my mind that I "wanted" Carlisle to score. I hoped we'd cling on for a point - didn't think we would.

wasn't a snipe mate, just a joke as that's the type of thing the average pundit as opposed to fan would say. In many ways I agree with you, but as a fan, I think Sussex_Addick has hit the nail on the head:

Regardless of the way we've been playing, what you think of Parky or anything else for that matter, there really isn't anything like scoring a winner in extra time.
...I did wonder how long it would go until people started going on about the way we've been playing.
Shame really cause I was really enjoying people's posts.

Fair enough mate! It is sometimes hard to communicate wit/sarcasm/irony across on these threads without others misunderstanding (me).
I'll be going mental with the rest of you ALL on Saturday IF we win concincingly (and by that I mean a performance to be proud of).
In the replays of bensons second. I see a charlton fan in the crowd just sitting there not even clapping while everyone else is going mad. Can't understand how a 90th minute winner can't give everyone that buzz to at least cheer. As Sussex says it's these little moments that mean so much

Na. Bloke with a puffa jacket & wooley hat. Everyone was was jumping around going crazy & he just sat there with his hands in his pocket. Just thought if youve travelled all that way & just nicked it at the end like we did you could at least clap. Maybe his just a local passing by or we have just ballsed his accumulator up
I had the bloke I mentioned having a rant against Parky,he appeared 15 mins before the end and bent my earhole! He was well oiled and just sat there when the winner went in and then got up and left.I saw him doing a good impression of Charlie Chaplin trying to cross the road on the way to the station he was still ranting to himself!

That is me on the far right (BIG green coat) Sorry to whoever I was climbing on.
