Jarman - our reputation would put you off? But you'd follow west ham or spurs?
Both clubs have just as large and troublesome history as ours, all because they ain't reported in the media as often as us doesn't mean they ain't as bad as others. Them two between them have more books on hooliganism glorifying it than anybody else!
As for the question, if Millwall had never existed my old man would've no doubt have been a Charlton fan, as would most people from Peckham, Brockley, New Cross, Bermondsey, Lewisham, Deptford, Nunhead etc.
If there was one club for that whole area it'd probably be a top 10 premier club easy.
Nobody. The idea of following another team seems ridiculous. I'd probably go and watch the team i used to play for more regularly though because Saturday afternoon's without football at all is even more ridiculous. Wouldn't have any real interest in going to see another professional team - got mates who's companies have boxes at the likes of Spurs and Chelsea but it doesn't interest me at all. Just like England matches - i'd sooner watch it on telly, whereas Charlton is a passion, it's not about the spectacle of the match - it's the fact they are your club, from your community and you feel part of the whole performance, vocally at least and it actually matters whether you win or lose.
I totally agree with Charltonkeston. Without Charlton I just wouldn't be interested in football.
I am not a football fan ,I am a Charlton fan. No Charlton- no football. I NEVER watch MOTD and I never watch internationals, apart from maybe some of the World cup. The rest of it just does not interest me.
I don't really believe anyone could could just change their allegiance. UP THE ADDICKS.
I'd don't think I'd "support" anybody else in terms of buying season tickets and regularly attending home games.
Having lived more than quarter of a century in Medway, and also known a few players and others involved with the club, I've a soft spot for Gillingham when it doesn't affect us. Len Glover went to Leicester so I took an interest in them and have continued it on and off as others like Kish and Chris Powell have also gone there. Non league wise I've always liked Margate as there were family connections for a while.
None of those interests are a patch on my love for Charlton though.
No Charlton would probably more or less be the end of my interest in football.
