[cite]Posted By: Sparrows Lane Lion[/cite]How would take 3,000 to Brighton when the demand for a trip to Millwall was less than that?
This isn't the Palace forum, we sold out at millwall.
Our away end is 3,600 or thereabouts. The sad fact is you couldn't sell your tickets fast enough and only just managed to sell them quick enough to put in a request for a further 500 or so to take you up to 3,000. If you sold them quick enough you could've asked and probably got the entire lower tier.
Are you listening? As i've already said we sold what you gave us. The end section at either side of the lower tier was netted off. Your argument is pathetic. It's like me saying most premier league sides take 3k to West ham but you lot only took 1500 last season. Why was that? Because you could only sell what you were given.
The actual sad fact is that you lot sold out at the Valley in about a day and also had your biggest league crowd in recent memory for the visit of little old Charlton who you don't care about.

My argument is you could've had more than 3,000 tickets if you didn't sell them so slowly. The demand wasn't there for more tickets. Did you not only get given a further few blocks in the lower tier closer to the game, as and when it seemed like you needed more? Had 2,200 initial allocation wasn't it?
Sorry to burst your bubble Chris, but we had more home fans for the game against Swindon.
You forget that our tickets were put on restricted sale initially to Charlton fans as we have approximately double the amount of season ticket holders you do. When they first went on sale only season ticket holders and Valley Gold with a significant away history could buy them. So it wasn't possible for ours to sell out as quickly as yours which went on sale to all season ticket holders, first come first served.
Blimey, how much easier do you need it? I'll say it slower for you.
We couldn't haaaaaaaaave any more tickets, because we weren't alloooooooooowed anymore tickets! Geddit?
We weren't allowed anymore tickets because they didn't want to open blocks nearest the home supporters on either side. In fact from what I remember they didn't want to give us and lower tier tickets at all until Charlton complained about it!
So they were actually sold out a week before the game. Had we been ALLOWED any more tickets I'm sure that would have been enough time for them to be sent over!

It matters not, as we were still your biggest league crowd for years.

Suppose those 600 fans who missed out and the 34 who didn't turn up on the day were quite lucky in hindsight based on the result.... ;-)
Anyways...my point was, would you take 3k to the Withdean if you were able to? Perhaps you would to the first game at their new gaff? but I doubt you would after.

this is 100% correct cos i stood at the lower tier right next to the net. the end blocks were closed for our safety so we couldnt smell the bullshit coming from your fans.
Let's face it, families etc won't take up tickets to go to Millwall. It's no surprise to me that alot of our supporters have always avoided going there. - I wouldn't take my 9yr old; I'm trying to keep him aware from agressive yobs. Millwall is full of hate.
In 2000 Palace gave us the entire Arthur Wait stand which we sold out, after that they started charging us £30 a ticket and only giving the basic allocation, which many refused to pay on principle.
Classic day that at Sh!tehirst. That place really is a dump, how that orange twat could strut his stuff in the media, when his club played in that tip always defined the man in my opinion. Classic of the day was the old Pal@rse Doris at half time in the centre circle really laying into us for barracking her half time appeal. The fact was we were not slagging her or their appeal off at all at first, it was just that the public announcement system in the Arthur Sixpence stand was so crap, we could not hear a word she was saying! I looked around me and at least 7,000 people had a puzzled look on their faces that read, "what the fuck did she say" and that was what initially we were chanting at her.
That really was a classic day. But the best bit was when Kitson scored late on, someone started singing "We'll never play you again" and the whole Arthur Wait seemed to join in. One of the loudest bits of singing I've ever heard at a CAFC game.

They don't care about us though!

All home tickets on restricted sale as well now.
