Brighton have already sold 2500

edited October 2010 in General Charlton
Albion will take a following of more than 3000 supporters to the Valley for their meeting with Charlton Athletic on 16th October.

The team's rise to the top of table has seen a huge surge in demand for both home and away tickets.

The club's initial allocation of 2000 tickets from Charlton for the match on Saturday week, plus a further allocation of 500 tickets have sold out.

The ticket office has now received a further allocation of just over 800 tickets, which are now available to purchase

  • I'd expect them to, we're a very easy away trip for them and they are flying
  • They always sell out
  • pleased to see their fans are backing the club and getting something in return. they were in a very poor state not so long ago so good luck to them (as long as its not at our expense).
  • sounds great,,
looking forward to this one now
  • Wahoo! Should be a good game this!
  • well do em mark my words, on the pitch obviously!
  • where's nolly ...... proper support brighton have got ...... we couldn't even sell out brentford!
  • I think we would sell out at their new stadium if we were top of the league and flying, so I wouldnt expect anything else really....
  • we'd sell 3,000 at Brighton if we were top and flying no problem (especially if it were a saturday)
  • I reckon we'd sell out Brighton if we were at the summit and flying. Particularly a Saturday

  • without the new ground syndrome i very much doubt it .... i mean 399 to tranmere and 1630 to norwich when we were top of the league and flying doesn't really back up those comments ...
  • Personally, i was joking.
  • Norwich was sold out last season?
  • I reckon we'd sell out Brighton even if we was bottom of the league and winless in 10...

I've no doubt your right, just seemed to be no empty seats there last year.
  • If Brighton had a half-decent ground and it was 3pm on a Saturday we'd take 3,000 there no worries

wouldn't matter where we were in the league

I went for the pre-season friendly a couple of years ago and left for the beach at half-time as the view was such a joke

think we've been there midweek both the last two seasons but sold out anyway if I'm right? (Ooh Aah can confirm for me!)
  • How would take 3,000 to Brighton when the demand for a trip to Millwall was less than that?

cause Millwall is a dump, plus I'm sure we sold more than 3k

This isn't the Palace forum, we sold out at millwall.

861 sell out down there last season
  • 2,966 to millwall last season
  • Shame they are going home with no points though.

Ha ha you're arguing over a difference of 77 seats. That could have just been an extra row netted off or something?

Bore off mate, we sold what you gave us.
  • I think it must have been the netted seats, as after Norwich scored there second I'm sure I saw some Charlton trying to get the net out of the way. Not sure it was to sit there though. Lol.
  • Re norwich away.
i thought we were initially allocated nearer 2500, but as we werent gonna sell out, norwich had 500 odd sent back to sell to their fans.

Our away end is 3,600 or thereabouts. The sad fact is you couldn't sell your tickets fast enough and only just managed to sell them quick enough to put in a request for a further 500 or so to take you up to 3,000. If you sold them quick enough you could've asked and probably got the entire lower tier.

How many do you normally take to palace? I assume they don't limit your tickets to 2k, 4.5k, etc like they do to us?
  • season we won the league we took 8k, in general we used to get circa 3k tickets I think

8k!!!? They gave you space behind the goal too? They can't have been happy the nigels.
