Between 1995 & 2005 I did most home and away, never mssing more than 3 a season- then I went and got engaged, eventually married and didn't do away games for a few years. But last season I missed only a handful and have done all three so far this season.

96/97 was most memorable from a 'loyal' point of view as there were several weekday away trips including being one of 64 fans at a league cup tie at Burnley (won 2-1), a cold Tuesday night at Sheffield United (0-3) and a parlous Friday night performance (0-4) at Tranmere. 96/97 was the season Sky took over from ITV with live coverage of football league games, our first being a Friday night match at Wolves (lost 1-0).

I did the lot with the only action I missed being the first half of the last match at Burnden Park, Bolton (another Friday night thanks to Sky) due to IRA threats of bombs on the motorway leading to several closures. It meant I missed Kins's first half rocket and had to watch Bolton's four strikes in the 2nd half instead.

I did everything bar the two play-off games v Ipswich in 97-98 as, thinking there was no hope of us going up seeing as we were 14th in September, I''d booked a holiday to Italy to start a week after the season ended. I made it back for the final though!

While it was available, I was an away season ticket holder and did all our first season up in the Prem and didn't miss a game until the league cup defeat on pens at Bournemouth in 1999. That 99-00 season was again good from a loyalty point of view as it was funny to see how many fans complained over our small allocation for the 6th round FA Cup tie at Bolton who then didn't bother to turn up two weeks later (about 200 went) when we were back there in the league.

With Huddersfield & Exeter tickets already secured, this looks like being another full and hopefully rewarding season.
  • Missed a home League game and a League Cup game early in 1975/76, another home League game in 1997 and a home Prem game in 2004. Otherwise present and correct since . . . 1969. Gulp!

Even missed an exam at uni to go to a game. Remember reading this in Battle for The Valley, I think.
