Just heard on radio that he is ripping Barnet's defense apart, personally I thought he was very hit and miss and mainly miss, but good to hear he is doing well with Parky at Bradford.

An enigma , scored a quality goal v Bristol Rovers away , pleased he's doing well for Bradford.
Interesting as Powell liked him and from what I was told letting him go was a really tough decision for Powelly. I am good mates with an old West Ham academy player who was and still is good mates with Kyel. I think in this team he would do a job coming on from the bench but not in the starting XI. The way we play now with Jackson and Green both RM/LM rather than wingers wouldn't suit him, maybe that's why SCP let him go.
I thought he was let go because he did not show enough and it was alright having potential but he had to start fulfilling it. From what CP said at Bromley Addicks he was going to have to make a tough decision, but Kyel really needed to look at himself as he had dropped from Premiership club, to Championship club to league one club and potentially could be dropping again. Over the summer we went from a club hoping that players would show their potential to a club that expected players to play to their potential and with Kyl sadly it would be hope. Doubt CP regrets it now.
Remember when he arrived he was first choice as left midfield with JJ playing left-back (and none too successfully) then he got injured, JJ took his place as a starter and the rest is history.
I liked Kyle but he did blow hot and cold a bit. Mind you, I think anyone with talent would have done in the team we had back then. Always remember the goal he scored away at Southend.
I went to a game v Huddersfield away when he was on loan. He scored and tormented their defence for the whole of the second half. Would be playing in the prem if he could do that consistently. If he gets his head down, can certainly move up the leagues again, just needs to settle down. Moving down the leagues could be good for him.
he has an awful lot of talent ..i guess to play at a higher level hed have to have more application on and off the pitch ..i wish him and his manager well
I remember a cup match against, coincidentally, Barnet that somehow epitomised Kyel Reid for me.
About 20 minutes in he got the ball on the right, just inside the Barnet half, and went off on a solo run beating 3 or 4 players before sliding the ball into the net for our (winning) goal. It was a superb goal that only a player of talent could score. However for the rest of the game, although physically on the pitch, he was missing.
Great talent but a lack of application I fancy. I hope that now he's 25 or thereabouts Parky has put an arm round his shoulder and said "Kyel you can go all the way mate but you need to work at it and you need to do it now."
I went to the Barnet game yesterday as my mum's fella is a Bradford fan, and its just a 20 minute drive down the A1 from where I work... Reidy had a pretty hit and miss first half, but once he scored, he was full of confidence and absolutely on fire. He constantly ripped the Barnet defence apart until he had to go off with a knock.
Verdict: League 1 standard, but if he has the right man management and plays consistantly with confidence, I think he would be a Championship player.
in terms of our squad , I was disapointed he left , we could do with a direct left sided player who could complement Jacko . I liked Reid but accept that he was inconsistant .
Another point is that Powell and more so Dyer would have known him from his time with West Ham , so clearly they would have known plenty about him and decided he was not worth retaining.

He really likes the club, genuinely appreciates Parky, and says he wants 15 goals this season.
yep i said it was a great move by parky at the time he aint got the best out of him yet though weegie
He was good when he first came, but by the end I wasn't disappointed that he left. Glad he's doing well at Bradford though.
