Fingers crossed. Helps that their manager said it was harsh, I hope. I've only seen it on TV, and thought it was a tough challenge, but by no meand violent conduct. Think ref was partly unsighted as one of their players ran across in front of him just as it happened.
Wast of time. Think the ref was entitled to send him off and had a good game over all. Wouldn't surprise me if they added a game to the ban for a frivolous appeal.
By the way Weegie, he wasn't sent off for violent conduct; it was serious foul play.

Are you kidding me? I have seen some old bollocks on here before, but that is hands down the most ridiculous statement I've seen here for a while. Firstly, if you think that is a red card, you must be new to football. It was questionable whether it was even a free kick, let alone a booking. Secondly, if you think that ref had a good game overall you must be insane, or on a wind-up.
It wasn't a red card but to be honest I'll be very surprised if it's overturned, perhaps it would've been better to let this one go... would've missed a pointless league cup game he would've likely sat out anyway and been back for a crucial trip up to huddersfield... now it might well be the other way around but fair play for giving it a go.
In my opinion, it was a handball by Doc all day long, and the trip was in the area, and we had a pen for handball that was wrongly refused midway through the first half. All poor decisions in my view.

Fair enough, but correct me if I'm wrong, you sit in the West Stand? The trip was right infront of me.
Regarding the 'handball', do you honestly thinmk it was deliberate?

I do indeed. Fair play if you had a better view, I've already amended my view on the Semedo card with the benefit of a closer replay, maybe I'd do the same with the trip but it didn't make the highlights reel on Sky or BBC. As for the handballs, neither were perhaps "deliberate", but from memory on both occasions the arm was away from the body and you've seen them given frankly, more often than not.
Referee's directive: Hand to ball: If the hand or arm moves making contact with the ball .....then the referee will stop the game and penalise the player.
Ball to hand: If the ball hit's the hand or arm, without the hand or arm moving ..... then no offence has been committed.
I think the best we can hope for is a reduction to a 2 match ban, I'd be surprised if the FA overturned it.
I thought it looked like a penalty to me to Bournemouth an I had a pretty good view. But then again, I thought Bradbury (?) could have gone for stamping on Re'd's head when he was on the floor and on seeing the replay, Semedo should not have been sent off in the first place.
Michael Symes admitted he sympathised with Semedo and said he would have been disappointed to have seen red had the boot been on the other foot.
“To start with, it was a bad touch by me,” said the 26-year-old. “I was trying to retrieve the ball and he came in. I didn’t think it was that much of a bad tackle. We were both low and it wasn’t as if he went over the top or anything. He did catch me so, whatever the ref says, goes.”
I didnt have the best view in the ground ref the trip granted, however i do recall the ref pointing to a mark in the grass that was outside the box, the bourmouth players didnt really give it that it was inside, i thought the trip happened outside and taht the player fell inside

if your gonna be a WUM, i'd try and be a little bit more subtle to begin with.
[cite]Posted By: Covered End[/cite]When will they make the decision ? Tonight game is getting close (not that I think we will play him in any case) .
You'd think they have to make the decision before tonight, otherwise we won't know whether tonight or Friday is the first match of his ban if the appeal is rejected.

Surely he can play until the appeal is heard.
Surely we want the league cup game to count as part of the ban if (when) we lose the appeal?
One would hope, if they delay the hearing, that any games he misses in the interim will be deemed to count as part of the ban.
Interesting discussion exlcuding the idiotic ramblings of AshTray. You're giving referees a bad name when you come out with guff which is deliberately designed to cause everyone to get annoyed. Take a hint and when it's better to say nothing, do that and say nothing.
As regards Semedo I've seen the Saturday evening show (I wasn't at the game due to showing 7 yellows and a red at a Kent League game) and it looks as if he was late but certainly not high or over the ball. I certainly think the World Cup hasn't helped with the plethora of extremely soft reds. It looked to be to be a yellow, a late, hard challenge but in the current climate of football and anything remotely dangerous (a clash of heads at Blackburn v Hull last season ffs) seems to be red. I hope it gets overturned as we can't afford JS to be suspended for 3 games but whether the FA will I am not sure about to be brutally honest.

Bournemouth should have had a pen!
There where 2 corner mistakes
1 Red card that was not evan worth a yellow,
The guy needs to go back to Sunday League!
Ooh 2 corners - big deal!

All in all though, we deserved to win.

I think somebody is wearing their rose tinted spectacles. Ridiculous statement.

The ref was crap end of, we have had some rubbish ones at the valley but he would be amongst them. Back to non-league ref where you belong

Referee was awful in the 2nd half on Saturday.
Surely he can play until the appeal is heard.

Too sensible though probably!

3 game ban starts tonight.
