  • Strange thing to do.
  • What's happening with Bauza then?
  • I didnt know that a triallist could play

good idea get a real good look at someone in that enviroment
  • Looks like he's on the back burner.
  • Sensible thing to do. Confirms this game is probably coming a bit too soon.
  • Bauza has been released......parky told us on Tuesday at the clean up....its on another thread

Prob do what we did with Wade Small last year, give them a rolling contract or 1 month
  • I think from what parky was saying the other day the other trialist is likely to be Norbert....he empahsised that he needed another wide man and I think Norbert has featured in most of the squads he has put out.

    Did that really happen though?

    ;-)
  • Isn't Norbert French?
Say Dutch striker in article. First thought was that guy who used to play for Fulham who we've been linked with before. Can't remember his name.

Collins John. He's Liberian though. And currently in the US.
  • interesting :

Some have already moved on after failing to land deals but several remain and Parky says one unnamed individual could be involved this weekend.

He explained: “We’ve got a few still left and one might be on the bench on Saturday. We’ve brought a striker in from Holland to have a look at him and we will continue to do that because like I said, that is the area we need to improve'

I don't think they can, I'm sure he means one might sign in time for Saturday. Otherwise loads of clubs would have trialists on the bench.

Could just be a short term contract though like Wade Small last season.
  • Parky keeping us in suspense.

Kevin Phillips to line up vs Borunemouth!

    Or Leroy Lita

    :-O

    Or Bauza...

  • i know jeff stelling keeps saying that a trialist scores on a saturday
  • Norbert has been released, says so on the official site and confirms Bauza gone too. Is the Dutch striker JFH ?
  • If he is dutch i would have a shot at Maceo Rigters, Still at Blackburn they obviosuly don't want him anymore and weren't we linked with him once before.

Parky says could sign on a non contract basis
  • Someone who will impress on trial....

    Not marlon king then ;-)

    .
  • "Unfortunately, signing strikers is the hardest thing to do. They don't come cheap and clubs don't want to sell their best goalscorers.”

Asked about recent triallists, Parkinson revealed contracts were not being offered to Etienne Esejas, Guillaume Norbert, Guillem Bauza or Gunnar Thorvaldson.

But the Addicks boss told the media a Dutch striker had arrived for a trial and hinted the teamsheet might have an unfamiliar name on Saturday.

"We've got plenty of others [triallists],” laughed Phil. "We might have a few surprises up our sleeves and one could be on the bench on Saturday. We could sign a player on a non-contract basis.

"We've brought a striker in today from Holland to have a look at him, and we will continue to do those sorts of things. We can't afford not to, because we haven't got a great deal of money.”
  • Fortch or mulley?
  • Super David Mooney
  • He's surely talking about a striker and if not a winger. Someone who has been on trial but perhaps not even player in a friendly for us.
