Patience from supporters and no booing. With RM taking sole control it feels like a new beginning. Would be great if Parky's team, and it really feels like his team this time, got us promoted with a noisy Valley roaring the lads on. COYR!
hope = promotion
expect = finish between 7th and 12th
dread = not having a striker that will get double figures or a midfielder to get more than half a dozen goals. & long injuries to semedo, dailly and/or doherty.
I am hoping for the play-offs. Although Steve Tilson has just been on SSN and didnt mention us in the play off picture. My expectation is around 7th to 10th but i too think its vital that when we play at The Vallley that the Covered End and maybe other parts of the ground get behind the team for every minute. Roll on Saturday and then the two away games (which i am going to :D)! on Tuesday and Friday.
Can't wait to get back up to my season ticket seat now. That night against Swindon seems an eternity ago!
I dont see why we cant finish in the top 2, I know we may not be as strong as last year but this league isn`t either. It would also be good to have a decent run in the Johnsons paint trophy and maybe get a top premiership club down the valley in one of the other cups aswell.
I hope we win the league, Parky has a great season and becomes a ledge, Abbot scores 20+, idiot fans do not boo our players BEFORE they come on the pitch, Pardew gets sacked (cos I can be a spiteful git), Shelvey does well and features in the starting line up at 'pool.

Good point - a run in any of the cups could bring some added excitment and much needed cash to the Valley.
At this point, with no games having been played, I am feeling optimistic. I feel that PP is creating a decent League One "first 11" on limited funds and I hope it will be there or thereabouts come the end of the season. What could throw us off is injuries, of course - with such a thin squad luck will play a part.
I'm expecting some tight low scoring games, particularly at the Valley and for Charlton to sneak into the playoffs in 5th or 6th. I think we will be solid at the back and I'm hopeful that someone will score the goals we need to secure promotion.
I have a strong feeling that Peterborough will do very well and win the league comfortably and may well lump on a few quid at 11 or 12 -1
A month ago it was just to try and stay in the league and not get wiped of the map.But the Murray thing has given me a renewed vigour.
If we get the next four signings right then i'm thinking we could give it a real good go.
Decent shot at the playoffs, double figures from Pawel & a season of attacking football. No doubt there will be highs and lows along the way but I just can't wait for Saturday!
I hope they some of our games on Fox sports here in oz. I expect us to be one of the top teams this year and I really hope sky are right with their prediction of us getting second. Lets hope for the 4 more Parky wants.
Hope - The Valley becomes a ground that opponents find hostile and intimidating to play at, just as it was between 1992 and about 2002, the partisan atmoshphere inspiring Charlton to find that extra bit of energy when things are against them, ultimately benefitting our final points tally by three or four crucial points.
Expectation - The Valley remains a ground that Charlton find hostile and intimidating to play at, just as it has been for the last 3 years, the negative atmosphere making life easy for opponents and detrimentally affecting our final points tally by three or four crucial points as bewildered players struggle to deal with routinely being booed everytime they go a goal down or misplace a pass.
I just hope we can create a Fortress Valley once again, without the constant abuse of the moronic 'non-thinking' fraternity.
I just want the season to unfold in the way it should - and for the team to give it's best shot.
And give us a season to remember for all the right reasons!
As it stands, the team isn't quite complete yet ....... but let's see what the next 4 weeks bring?
For the first time for a few years I am determined to start the season without high expectations of promotion or being the best team in the league. If we do really shine then brilliant, because we will have gone out and earned it. I am looking forward to the season ahead, but this time I am staying calm.
expect = Another season supporting my team after having a few beers
Hope = Another season supporting my team to victory and more than a few beers on certain away trip stopovers
Comments
I'm hoping for as few injuries as possible as we're going to have a very good first eleven, but the back-up is thin.
I'm hoping that Kyle Reid lives up to expectations; he could be the best player in League 1 this season.
I'm hoping that Richard Murray stays an integral part of Charlton's future.
I'm hoping that Parky gets offered a new contract as that will mean things are going well.

Plus i'd like to do a few more away days. Especially as Bruv will be commentating!!!!
Roll on Saturday, i can't wait!!!!

expect mediocrity
dread/fear reid , jackson and docherty not being as good as we hoped they are
I want a striker (Pawel) to smash in 30+ goals ala Holt last season and become a cult hero
I expect as last season most games to be fairly close, a similar points total to last season would be good as that may be good enough this year.
I expect a better season than last year 2nd place this time.

1.Some entertaining football.
2.Some entertaining crowds.
3.The odd bout of incoherent swearing
beyond that I would love a consistant goal scorer to emerge and fire us to promotion

What I'm expecting is 6th to 10th
Got a feeling abbott is gonna get us alot of goals this season. Parky may still even pull a surprise signing out the bag.
Can't wait for saturday

I would be very happy with Playoffs, and we know thats a lottery utimately ...
and mid table wouldnt be a disaster...
after that
Hopes = Promotion
Realistically= not being relegated
Worried= Parky is still in charge
COYR!!!!!!!!
I want to see us thrash a couple of teams at The Valley. IE: score 5 or 6 goals.
A Cup run would be nice and a big prem team at The Valley.
I Hope this much talked about takeover gets closer.
Most of all i want the players to sweat blood for Charlton Athletic. As long as they do that at least we can say we tried.
Expectation - Play-off failure again
Hope - The Valley becomes a ground that opponents find hostile and intimidating to play at, just as it was between 1992 and about 2002, the partisan atmoshphere inspiring Charlton to find that extra bit of energy when things are against them, ultimately benefitting our final points tally by three or four crucial points.

Well in theory anyway ;-)
Hope = Another season supporting my team to victory and more than a few beers on certain away trip stopovers
Hope = a better atmasphere at the valley
Hope : for everything.
At least we get another shot at the JPT!
