  • I just love a centre back that charges in and nuts the ball. Frighteningly error prone though he was I'll remember him with a smile.

Shin high headers are definitely the way forward! He had some major limitations but I can't help thinking him and Dailly were a better balanced pair of centre backs than any combo we've seen so far this season.

Tend to agree with both statements. Always enjoyed Sodje because you never knew what you were going to get but I can't think of many more impressive headers of a ball in a Charlton shirt - he seemed to love heading and considering he wasn't the tallest its even more impressive

For all his bad points - and he had a fair few - I will always fondly remember him too
  • One player who won't be in the Owls' ranks is Sam Sodje, who parted company with the club this week after a trial period.

The 31-year-old, who was released by Charlton in the summer, had been training with the Owls for the past two weeks, but after he suffered a number of injury niggles which meant he missed the chance of playing for the reserves, it was agreed he should leave Hillsborough.

Wednesday manager Irvine said: "Sam missed a couple of training sessions with injuries and that made it very difficult; he was scheduled to play against Derby [County reserves on Tuesday], but had a bit of a hamstring strain, so he wasn't able to play.

"I think he thought he needed a decision a bit quicker on what was going to happen, and I couldn't give him any decision without seeing him play in games. He's the type of player who is much easier to assess in games rather than in training

I like Sodje, and if money wasn't an issue would gladly have him as a back-up CB but he's too injury-prone to be a safe bet.
  • I thought what was best about Sam Sodje when he was at the club, that was he was fast, all our centre backs this year are so slow!
it would be good to have him back, but he get's injured too often and gets red cards too often as well, like many have said earlier.
