Warren Feeney

  • Hahaha! I rushed it, so I would be the first.
  • Not nit-picking (Stop Shouting) but Phil Chapple was just stating what we all know to be true - that we NEED that goal-scorer. Sadly, he really wasn't in a position to promise us one. Here's hoping...
  • Also I really like being proved wrong about a player, for example I never thought Benty would score that many. So if Feeney scores 15 or so and none are pens that will do for a start
  • The board are going all out for a striker who can regularly score goals - this comes first hand from them.

They know we need one - we know we need one - now we just need to find one and convince them to sign

If any of our players score 15 I'll be happy!

Wasn't the highest 13 last year?

    Edit: Burton 14
  • If we could get three players into double figures this year it would be amazing
  • What's wrong with Warren Feeney?
We could have ended up instead signing a Foreign Weeny .....a lightweight, no appetite shirker from abroad.

One could wear the number 10 shirt; another the number 11, and the other wears number 12.

There you go, 3 strikers in double figures.

on that basis give them 20,21 and 22, then we will have three on 20 or above

No we couldn't, we can't afford to scout outside of this country ;-)

  • Finding it hard to get excited about signing the new Leon Mackenzie (who, was the new Todorov). If it is on a 'pay as you play' deal, then fair enough.

    Not confirmed yet, though....
  • Not particularly encouraging reading about this guy. Agreed we have to sign a decent striker.

Not sure this guy has a decent fitness or proven goal scoring record. Whoever we sign we do not need another dud like Todorov, please.......
  • Todorov wasn't a dud IMHO.

Was class until that thug from Plymouth finished him. Was a huge loss for us. If he'd been fit Pardew might not have bought Gray and gone for another midfielder to replace Reid.

And Toddy scored and made his fair share of goals too.

    Palace away anyone
  • Phil Chapple was surely stating the obvious wasn't he. Surely EVERY club out there needs a 20 goal a season striker.
  • At the end of the day we may sign another striker yet and they may be the 20 a season person. We need players first and foremost, and we've got one! Everyone keeps moaning we haven't signed anyone yet moan when we do!
  • Was just about to say the same Ross.

We've lost Fleetwood, MacKenzie, Mooney and - potentially - Burton. Add McLeod to that list as he's injured/out of favour and you could argue Feeney will be one of three strikers to sign this summer.

I like the idea of us signing a young forward. Wasn't there a rumour about Bret Pitman a while back?

Yeh - we've got our own no-appetite shirkers born and bred in this cuontry - we don't need any from abroad...just look at the brave lads who stood up for good English no-appetite shirking in South Africa!

The same Plymouth thug who ended McLeod as well :-(

I wouldn't really count Fleetwood and McKenzie as a loss. 1 was never here and the other always injured.
  • Am very underwelmed with Feeney, his record is poor both in terms of goals and fitness. If the management were serious about getting someone to push towards the 20 goal mark, Feeney is a joke.

Akpo and Harrold fair enough, they are target men who would get their fair share plus create for others, but we need someone to play alongside the target man who is going to get goals. Feeney not the answer.

Is Cardiff not outside this Country? ; )
  • I wonder if I could join in the moaning. However I think i've only seen a few glimpses of him which I can't remember. Has everyone else really seen him play a lot.?
and before some wise guy says it, don't say no because he has been injured.
  • At the end of the day a forward is judged by his goals record (even you Heskey) and Feeney's record is pants.
What else is there to say - the stats are there for everyone to see.

Barely played for Cardiff all season, we've obviously watched him in away reserve games ;-)
  • As people have already said, we're going to have to take a gamble on players. And it happens every season that a striker will go to a club, having previously not scored, and have a blinder. Now I'm not saying that Feeney will do that, but we this is the sort of gambles we'll have to take. Darren Bent was a gamble in the Prem, and it came off. Deon Burton was a a gamble, and it paid off. So if he does sign let's not slate him before he plays.

As a striker on the treatment table, he laid on a few.
  • We have to assume that Parky was not convinced by Forster and thinks that Feeney is a better bet, if he signs.
  • Hunt was pretty average before we signed him

Cut the guy some slack - he's not even joined and he's getting caned

this 100% we are where we are we need to try and get what we can my personal opinions on the guy will remain mine i will not slate any player this season i may even lay off parkinson

no bollox he is fair game

Forster wanted a two year deal, we probably didn't want to offer that. Brentford did.
